Even under the UK system, Woyome could never be tried again if the appeal fails because the standard for a new trial in the UK is that there should be new evidence that was not available at the time of the first trial. In other words, a new NPP administration under Nana Akufo-Addo would be unable to prosecute Woyome.

The law allows an appeal which Mrs. Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppng is pursuing at the appeal court. From the appeal court it can progress to the Supreme Court and that will be the end.
IF in the worst possible scenario, AKUFO ADDO wins the 2016 elections,(not under the sun) he cannot pursue the case again.

And if you think judgment from the courts in Ghana depend on the party in office then you're calling the fairness and impartiality of the courts into question. How then would a victory under Akufo-Addo right the wrongs of the court you view with contempt?
Under Akufo-Addo, Ghana did not prosecute anyone except for the lynch mentality brought on by Kufour against Tsikata. In the end Tsikata displayed his intellectual superiority while making the best NPP has to offer look just like the incompetent jokers in the court headed by a shady NPP appointed Chief Justice Ms Woods and the world. Akufo-Addo is not prepared or ready to be humiliated in person or his team neither will your loud mouth save Ghana from the greed the NPP and NDC has normalized in Ghana.

Sorry in as much as I don't agree with the outcome of this case I respect the rule of law and I urge the Akomeah guy to abide by the laws that govern our dear nation no matter how much he feels the NDC might be involved. Try and not to use your own feelings of wanting to be in Government to pass judgment for the NPP are not void of corrupt practices. To think that Nana Akomea is a product of the School of Communication Studies, Legon at times baffles me.

How on earth do you send Wayome back to court when he has been tried by the same Ghanaian court, then to an appellate court of the land, because the AG/government lost and when we have an (NPP) government the same case is sent to court? Akomea please think!

The AG is not acting on behalf of the NDC but the state, and the courts are state institutions so what is going to change? Pack the courts with NPP leaning judges again like Kuffour did in the Tsikata case?

Akomea, there is this simple term (already used here by Kofi Ata) DOUBLE JEOPARDY. A man can not be tried twice and punished for the same crime/offense. NDC or NPP if the appeal by the AG is thrown out, then this Wayome guy would be walking freely in Accra and no one can do "tii/foko" to him, if even you make Afoko the judge...lol

Lest I forget, both parties have been tainted already with all these secrets coming out that, top guns in the NPP also enjoyed part of his loot.
