Our country is doomed with the stupid and callous idea of political parties choosing northerners as presidential running mates. With the country's life expectancy being so low at 63 (male), there is a high probability that this kid, Bawumia, who runs his mouth at every opportunity he gets would be our next president. At 71 years old, it is inconceivable that Akuffo Addo, now in poor health, might die during the tenure of his presidency just as Atta Mills passed away in midterm of his presidency, then the country would be left with this inexperienced hobo, whose only rise to fame is a university degree at Simon Fraser University in Canada and a short stint as deputy governor of the central bank.

Is this the way we choose our leaders - by way of affirmative action? What would qualify Bawumia as a vice presidential candidate if he was born in the south? What leadership qualities can we find in Bawumia other than having a phd in economics? Is having a phd in economics and coming from the north the only criteria required for the vice presidential position?

We all are reminded of the mess Mahama is making to our country - lack of leadership, lack of focus, corrupt, and irresolute. Mahama was picked as vp for the fact that he is a northerner. Mahama is all over the map; no ideological underpinning, and no leadership qualities. He is like a chaff - he goes wherever the wind blows. Is this the kind of leadership we deserve as a people?

Our whole thinking and mindset as a people are twisted and mangled. How dare we choose a leader based on ethnicity rather than meritocracy? Our present economic woes started in 2007 with Bawumia when he mindlessly redenominated the cedi and pegged it with the US$. This is the man we are touting to succeed Akuffo Addo in the event of the latter's death - inexperienced, juvenile, and full of air.

2) I have a serious problem with a man who claims he is an astute economist and thinks Kuffour's economic policies favored Ghana.
3) If Dr. Bawumia has the audacity to come to the US to solicit our hard earned monies for campaign, how come none of these politicians want to involve Ghanaians Living Abroad (GLA's) in the political process by extending us our right to vote as per the specifically passed Amendment to PNDC Law 284 (Act 699)??????
