The gender discrimination is also due to the fact that the populace find it difficult taking bribes from women MPs hence their preference for male MPs who they can easily milk.Female MP e.g. can't buy you akpeteshie or jot.

The best way to close the gap is to empower women -- by educating the girl child, and for instance having an equal pay act and also put the smart ones in leadership roles, on boards, make them CEOs of government enterprises, basically put capable women in charge of non elective/by appointment positions.

Ursula Owusu should attend all churches on Sundays because she surely needs to cleanse her mouth, body and soul. The interesting lesson lost here on most readers and listeners of NPP and NDC weekly garbage is that true democracy does not espouse carving out special rights based on gender. But in nations where special rights have been implemented they have come as a result of long standing history of discrimination against those groups either by previous legislation or cultural/societal practices and preferences.

I have often argued that if Ghana wants to travel the democracy road to somewhere then we have better do it better than existing democracies. Gender discrimination is not going to get better or go away in Ghana until the women in our society, mostly housewives and single women playing the field, learn to question their spouses/significant other about spending habits and lifestyle at home or in the broader community that cannot be matched or accounted for with their reported incomes.

Women, including Ursula Owusu, cannot turn the head or eyes and assume the position of hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil even as their spouses, sons and brothers engage in stealing, bribery and corruption and expect the very men to know that discriminating against women is wrong. The same hypocritical lessons and stance driving the NPP of yesteryear to rail against the CPP continues to have a choke hold then today.

I think more Women should be encouraged to go into Politics. Education in that direction should include how to give a speech or talk to the people,Men generally should also
be equally enlightened to desist from labeling Women who venture into politics unfounded names,especially those from Villages and small Towns.
Again,the Country should have strong rape laws.As the Ghana-man wants a "Cut" at the least opportunity.(People are the same everywhere though) !
Note that even in the advanced Countries Men outweigh Women in Politics.So it's not only in Ghana Women don't want to be in politics.
Maybe Women have observed that the Men Politician in Africa are full of Liars
and Thives,and they(women)don't want to be part of it.

Even in the church where we believe we are equal before the creator there is nothing called positive discrimination. As opposition party this social engineering concept is not the right to implement. Our priority is to secure power first and everything shall be added to it. Are we in love for coming to power or to initiate a social engineering which will end up nowhere.

What important matters are discussed at funerals? Yes, an MP should interact with their constituents, but when it matters most. Community meetings can be scheduled in the course of which communal developmental issues can be raised and discussed. Rallies can be organised in the various parts of the constituency where information relating to community development can be highlighted and explained. No prudent MP does these in church or at a funeral. I am even astonished that Ursela feels obliged to provide evidence that she attends whatever number of churches and funerals in a week. You guys have completely lost the plot. Open your eyes and ears and abrest yourself with what goes on in politics in the 21st century guys
