The fundamental fact evident by current and past events is that northerners have been the least beneficiaries of politics following the introduction of multi-party democracy in Ghana.The demonstration if well intended without any political connotation in seeking to mischievously score cheap political points is most welcome.If it is an action by progressive minded and responsible youth in prompting the Mahama Government in heeding to developmental obligations in the region then it must be encouraged rather than discouraged as it is an unprecedented paramount shift giving meaning and essence to politics in Northern Ghana.Nevertheless,one categorical fact that cannot be ignored in all these is a holistic approach in condemning all politicians in Northern Ghana who do relatively little by way of socioeconomic development compared to their southern counterparts rather than single out President Mahama for blame.I am not by this saying the President should not be held accountable for his promises in the region.In essence this should serve as a stepping stone in encouraging the youth to hold greedy,self centered, dishonest,lousy,incompetent and irresponsible politicians accountable in every field of endeavor to force the desired development.MPs particularly in Northern Ghana with some in parliament since 1992 have sort very flimsy and inexcusable reasons to evade responsibility of development by pretending they are only law makers as legislators.Their over side responsibility of developing their communities is only realized during election period when they troop back home in numbers to buy votes by bribing electorates with goodies.The motor bikes,tricycles,food items and physical cash distributed during elections should be regular and consistent as part of human empowerment and development.The worse part of the northern politician with due reference to characters like Alban Bagbin is vindictive and autocratic tendencies targeted at manipulating and suppressing the youth to have a strangle hold onto power.It is interestingly ironic to have Bolga associated with demonstration calling for development.It is an interesting paradox of departure from the useless and and confrontational ill-informed politics of the fickle minded.The youth in the north in general should encourage productive discourse of issue based politics not useless antagonism in satisfying politicians for pittance.Politics is supposed to bring about development irrespective of which party,government,ethnicity or personality is in charge.Let's encourage pressure groups devoid of political appendages to force development as our bonafide right rather than the idiosyncrasy, boot licking ,sycophancy and opportunism that encourage enslavement by eccentric and bullish autocrats of the likes of Alban Bagbin who want to be worshiping Demagogue.
