In this present day of civility you guys still indulge in slavery, let alone Child slavery, yet are the first to point accusing fingers at others. You use children as young as five years for fishing and for profit yet have the unpardonable audacity to accuse others of doing anything for money. Besides this, you enslave little girls, rape and abuse them in the name of tradition-"TROKOSI." I hope the arrests and subsequent prosecution will be deterrent enough to knock some sense into those empty ones.

When BAGBIN was critised, he quickly used his custom to defend himself. Is it not stupidity and nonsense?

All the CLUELESS leaders of the NDC, including President Mahama, JJ RAWLINGS and LORDINA MAHAMA, WIFE OF THE PRESIDENT,sat quiet over this. LORDINA IS NOW SHOWING HERSLF AS THE CHIEF PROPONENT OF WOEN'S CAUSE IN GHANA.

How can child labour OR slave trade in Ghana be stopped? It can only be stopped, if and if only elders like BAGBIN will stop hidding behind custom,traditon and their usages.

At 21st century, slave trade is being pepetrated in Ghana by BAGBN and others.

I think BAGBIN should apologise to the youth f Ghana and more importantly to the girl's family.

We must seriously demand the apology, despite the age of the girl now. At that time the girl was under age and her name could not be mentioned in ublic.

One must ask the question, however, why the news media refers to this reprehensible social crime as "child labour" when it occurs in Europe, and "slavery" when it occurs in Africa?

While IJM and the police are at it, why don't they look at the cattle herder boys in the Volta region. They should speak to the Police command at Sogakope, Adidome etc. and arrest the cattle owners of the area, who also include MPs' and Assemblemen, who are using boys as young as 5 years old as cattle herders.

These boys are indentured servants sold by parents and relatives for as little as GHS200 for 5 to 10 years of indentured servitude. I know because on a couple of occasion I have seen police arrest these cattle herders for crop damage or trespassing only for an adult owner to come claim them as their children. Children who do not attend school while other children from the same villages, the biological children of the cattle owners attend the nearby schools.
