The program's three pillars as, "restraining and prioritizing public expenditure with a transparent budget process; increasing tax collection; and strengthening the effectiveness of the central bank monetary policy".

My question is, don't we have people with the "brains" to implement such policies? Why should we expect humans like us to come and tell us what we should act or think or do? If we cannot put measures in place to arrest or confront the problems facing us, why did we even think of going "solo"?

Increasing Tax Collection - Is that one of the conditions of the IMF loan to Ghana?? Are we supposed to pay more tax every where even in the ports of Ghana where the Customs Officers and the National Security Agents connive and take half of the tax imposed on the importers??
Frankly we are sick and tired of these greedy customs officers who are actually making life very much unbearable for importers. Is there no way the Ghana Government, for that matter, to check these rogue civil servants in our ports of entry especially Tema and Takoradi Ports???

These people have it all upside down. This is like a deal with the devil. IMF is trying to take over the world. How does the Finance Minister and his team expect Ghana's economy to improve from such advise:

1. Restrain and Prioritize Public Expenditure with transparent budget process - What kind of advise is that?

2. Increase Taxes

3. Strengthen BOG Monitary Policy

If you have brains, and you choose not to use it well, fools will think for you. Any of the advises given in the above 3 line items, is wrong and would not yield Ghana's economic freedom, PERIOD! These kinds of policies have repeatedly failed Ghana and many Nations. You should know better and play to your strengths, OH AFRICA!!
