I do not think this is misleading as not only a midwife working in the NHS can get that much but any ordinary worker who has contributed enough to the NATIONAL INSURANCE over 40years can get something close £500,000.

Where is the workers tier two pensions funds to invest in the schemes of their choice? This is exactly some of the reasons why the NPP gov't came up with that program and policy to address some of these concerns.
When it came to making good on this policy by the Mahama-led NDC gov't, Ghanaian workers having put in long years like Madam Martha Buckman here, were given the short end of the stick. The workers tier two pension funds and the schemes to be invested in had become a tug of war, between the Mahama-led NDC gov't and Ghanaian workers, why, because the Mahama-led NDC gov't had blown Ghanaian workers on retirement, and those on the verge of retirement tier two pension funds with First Banc, Bank of Ghana, Ministry of Finance, the NPRA all singing different discordant tunes at the same time.
This is the e de bee k3k3 better Ghana agenda. It is not surprising that the NDC party and gov't treats some demographic in such a manner because they see them as "old, sick and foolish" and their concerns and contributions should not matter and should be dispensed off and packed in some obscure corner.
There's no respect for the elderly by this NDC party and gov't.
A party and gov't with such a predisposition is an affront to universally accepted norms and values concerning this demographic and under no circumstances should Ghanaians accept the notion that some demographic within any population are old, sick and foolish and thus, should be treated in such a manner.
Ghana needs to send the Mahama-led NDC gov't out in 2016 because they have failed and cannot deliver.
A midwife having put in 41 long years in any advanced and developed country would be described as very wealthy after retirement, and would lead a very happy and content life after retirement, but this is not the case in this country. And when a forward looking and visionary gov't thinks through some of these matters and adopts a policy and program such as the workers tier two pension scheme, another, the NDC party and gov't comes in, loots the workers pension funds and totally makes a gargantuan mess of the program, and such a party still has the temerity to ask for the vote of fair-minded and well-meaning Ghanaians to continue on the unsustainable path of looting into the doldrums...
This can only happen in a failed state and a banana republic and Ghanaians should reject such a party and gov't and the classification of a failed state under this Mahama-led NDC gov't.
The Mahama-led NDC gov't cannot do it and it is imperative Ghanaians send them packing at the ballot box in 2016 for the sake of Madam Martha Buckman. Madam Martha Buckman deserves the best and should get the best.

2. Was her mandatory deductions paid to SSNIT by her Employer be it the government or a private firm.
3. If she was self employed, did she pay her own deductions to SSNIT?
More often than not, employers intentionally refuse to pay the mandatory deductions to SSNIT and employers do not verify or ask their employers whether they have paid their contributions to SSNIT. The problem can also be with SSNIT through sheer negligence in computing workers contributions, handicap staff, computer hitches and other matters

Let's answer the questions and see where the fault comes from. She should produce her SNNIT contribution statement since she started working.
The point is your contribution determines what you should be paid. Some times her employers did not pay but deducted from her salary, or she might have worked in different hospitals ,which means ALL those places that she worked ,must pay SNNT accordingly. We need her account statement with SNNIT before we can correctly judge this case.

Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph". The politicians read about it in the news but will make a fuss about it just to score points. Let a similar situation knock on the doors of the so called 'representatives of the masses' and it will be resolved in days. Each of the 230 MPs received at least GHS276,000 after the last elections and i guess giving one who has served this country for 41years an amount of 3000gh cedis is tantamount to that. History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the so called "good people".
