How can Mahama build new hospitals when such hospitals like that in Prestea and mny other ones need face lifting? If someone is seriously ill, they always transported on the condemned road to Tarkwa and they die even before they get there N you are talking about building New hospitals- useless visionary. Go and upgrade the existing ones to acceptable standards especially the Prestea hospital where there no ambulance, morgue, toilets and bathrooms for both patients and wards. Where lies your advisors? And if you lack some don't you have common sense yourself? Construction of the 5 hospitals may not be the problem of the dissenting voicing but it's about making existing ones fully functional.
Another election year is approaching so the incumbent administration is not necessarily thinking about the viability of the projects they intend to undertake. It's all about Mahama NDC administration. These kind of projects are not meant primarily for the welfare of the people but to enhance the perception of the administration in the eyes of the citizenry. They were called Prestige Projects in the First Republic during Nkrumah's time. CPP and NDC are not the same but the ideology, purpose, mentality and style are basically the same.

What is wrong with Mahama? The existing hospitals in the country is nothing to write home about and yet this Mahama does not see the need to improve them, instead he is thinking of constructing new ones. Just as he is wasting the resources of building new schools instead of using our resources to improve the existing ones. Most of these schools even do not have a working library, yet he is wasting time constructing new ones. On the hopspitals, many of them look like dressing stations, no medicine, no doctors to man them and lack of qualified staff to man them. Even in the midst of "dumsor" some of them do not have working generators to help in its operations. Even Komfo Anokye is working with borrowed equipments from Korlebu. Please Mahama, improve the existing ones before you think of constructing new ones. I know you will not listen because you seem to be trying to impress, which to me is useless, however, time will tell.

The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Fifi Kwetey, says politicians are harming the country and the African continent with their “desperate and irresponsible” promises during election campaigns.

According to the Ketu South Member of Parliament, such desperate promises, especially, made to farmers, put a lot of pressure on his ministry, since farmers tend to expect government to provide them with basically everything before they can be successful in that sector.

“I agree that the desperate, irresponsible promises just must stop. I am one person who clearly believes that we are actually harming this country, and harming this continent through these desperate politics.”

Speaking on the MORNING STARR with Kafui Dey Thursday, the Agriculture Minister said the biggest challenge affecting his ministry is the mindset of farmers.

He said until farmers understand that farming is a business and properly plan towards it; it would be difficult for them to make progress.

He said as a minister in charge of the sector, his biggest problem is “how to be able to bring about that real transformation in terms of approach."

Kwetey said it was important for farmers to understand that little will be achieved until they changed their entire approach to farming.

The former Minister of State in charge of financial and allied institutions added that government is working systematically to ensure that dams are constructed in areas where agriculture needs to be encouraged to shore up the sector.

Why should we be so wicked to our own people because of greed. However, the gullible and illiterates are over excited when they hear of all these new projects which would only be a drain of our scarce material resources.
Yikra, you have hit the nail on the head. If people live in clean environments and are gainfully employed, we would have few getting sick, but when we have the wrong fundamentals, no matter the number of hospitals built, it would not help the citizenry.

Is it not a shame that after building these hospitals they end up with only one doctor.
