There is nothing wrong with it. Manny Pacquio (Boxer) is an MP (Senator in Phillipines), Stephen Weah (Footballer) is also a Senator in Liberia.

Sebastian Coe, Baron Coe, CH, KBE, often referred to as Seb Coe or Lord Coe, is a British MP and former track and field authority!

Many other Sportsmen and women have gone on to become politicians

So there is nothing wrong if you choose to run for MP!
