…and not only increasing the winning margin in the Ashanti region. The NPP can't be seriously considered to be a "national party" if it keeps on winning only 2 REGIONS out of 10 in 2 presidential elections. Here are the bankers, in lotto player’s parlance (street language):

NDC: Volta & the northern regions;

NPP: Ashanti & Eastern regions.

The other regions are the so-called “tossed up electorates” (they can go anywhere).

So, each party should broaden its appeal in the other regions, although the NDC did very well by winning in 8 regions in the last two presidential elections or what were the results??

The NPP, aka Danquah-Busia-Dumbo party, should work harder to win the Brong/Ahafo region (to honor Dr. Busia) and also wind at least 2 northern regions (to honor Dumbo). Remember, the Eastern and Ashanti regions are bankers for the NPP.

But, for the NPP to win B/A & the north, very well crafted campaign strategies, programs and solid promises in the areas of Education, Roads, Healthcare centers and job creation should be in its tool box. If they work harder on those issues, then the NPP has a better chance of beating Mahama to the punch in his own backyard, else another painful defeat awaits them in 2016.
