Can $918m solve a problem that $2.7billion couldn't? Only NDC can answer this question. Some NDC members have more than that $114 being the first phase of that loan to be released to Ghana. People like Asiedu Nketia, the sole supplier of cement blocks to construct the Bui Dam, has more than that $114 million.
Anytime we go for such "a drop" in bucket loan, how do we feel as a nation? One thing that I do not understand is, why do we have to invite people to come and tell us to be "cost conscious"? I simply do not understand that.
As individuals, who in his/her right mind will spend more than he/she makes?

Pelicles, it's only the very ignorant and NDC sycophants who are saying the bailout will make a difference. As you say, we don't need anyone to tell us to live within our means. This govt has embarrassed GH

Does it make sense to go for 918-million IMF loan for 3-years period which our 2-main harbors, Tema and Takoradi can generate this money in that said period of time if prudent measures are put in place to thwart the doings of corrupt officials?
A friend of mine's brother in-law who is a junior official at Tema Harbor have put up 9-buildings in Accra. The question to ask is what will a senior official at that sector also do and not forgetting the number of workers in that sector who are ripen off mother Ghana. Then think about Takoradi Harbor, the same corrupt activities exist there also.
Stretching our thoughts towards individuals, private, quasi-government institutions and the same government bodies who directly or indirectly do business with government and fictitiously over and under invoicing their products and services, all these dubious deals when put together would be more than what this government is so happy going to get from the IMF in 3-years time.
I think the 918-million dollar loan is a slap in the face which will not make any meaningful impact on the economy. The government should have gone for something big in the range of 10-billion dollar loan to put it into both short and long term use. The short term could be in the pertinent areas of the economy, such as job creation which the government could make soft loans to existing entrepreneurs with lower interest rate in mind for them to expand their businesses and get able bodied people hit the job market.
The long term part of it could be jeered towards our electricity issues as well as our railway system which has totally collapsed between Accra-Kumasi tracks and not forgetting about extending it towards the Northern Region which of course in so doing will create jobs in this project. Same issue about our roads which most of our highways should be converted into 2-lanes towards each direction which in the long run will reduce road accidents to the minimum. Considering what our rich beans (Cocoa) brings to the economy and this 918-million dollar loan for 3-years period is absolutely nonsense and Mr. Mahama and his cabinet are full of individuals with saw-dust in their brains. Cheers.

This bailout will only compound things for Ghana just as Mahama himself has said.Even the conditions attached Ghana cannot go by them with regard to the situation coupled with the unbearable poverty

Greece borrowed less than 300 million dollars in 2010 and they owned IMF more over 600 million dollars today, is that the kind of bailouts? taking the advantage of the poor to make profit? that is killing.
The fact is, Mahama has sold out everything Ghana and we are a country of slaves and captives to the IMF, period!!!

GHANAIANS SHOULD BOYCOTT THE 2016 ELECTIONS ENMASSE TO REGISTER THEIR DISPLEASURE WITH THE ENTIRE SUCCESSIVE CORRUPT LAZY EASY-MONEY-GRABBING LEADERS.
GHANA HAS FAST DRIFTED BACKWARDS REGARDLESS OF THE POLITICAL PARTY IN POWER.
THE NATION GHANA IS BLESSED WITH UNLIMITED NATURAL RESOURCES, ALL IN CONTROL BY FOREIGN INTERESTS, YET GHANAIANS CONTINUE TO LIVE IN CONDITIONS OF HOPELESSNESS REGARDLESS OF THE POLITICAL PARTY IN POWER.
GHANA'S LEADERS ARE USELESS, LAZY, VISIONLESS, WICKED, CORRUPT AND THEY HAVE NO PLANS FOR NOW AND FUTURE GENERATIONS WHATSOEVER, APART FROM THEMSELVES AND FAMILY MEMBERS.
ONLY A FOOL WILL STAND ON A QUEUE FOR HOURS UNEND IN THE FILTH, SCORCHING SUN AND DUST IN GHANA AND VOTE FOR POLITICIANS, WHILE STILL BEING EXPOSED TO CONDITIONS OF TERRIBLE DEPRIVATION AND HOPELESSNESS IN GHANA.
GHANA DOES NOT HAVE LEADERS, WE HAVE LOOTERS, PERIOD. ONLY A FOOL WILL BELIEVE WHAT UNSCRUPULOUS GHANAIAN POLITICIANS SAYS DURING CAMPAIGNS FOR VOTES.
KUFUOR, ON YOUTUBE RECORD, TOLD KSM THAT HE ENJOYED GLOBE-TROTTING JUST TO SEE OTHER CULTURES, SO HIS MANY TRAVELS AT TAXPAYERS EXPENSE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH LEARNING THE GOOD FROM WHAT HE SAW OUTSIDE DURING HIS FREEBIE TRAVELS, AND IMPLEMENT THE MASSIVE HUMAN DEVELOPMENT HE SAW DURING HIS NUMEROUS TRAVELS AS PRESIDENT OF GHANA.
IF BEGGING FOR IMF AND OTHER LOANS IS WHAT LEADERSHIP IS ABOUT, THEN ANY FOOL CAN BE A LEADER IN GHANA.
IT'S A WASTE OF TIME TO VOTE FOR THESE USELESS GHANA LEADERS.
