We cheapen our deserving heroes by anointing the undeserved. I am flabbergasted by the inability for anyone in Ghana, from members of Parliament through executive offices to the judiciary, to ask how Ghana could have the many judgment debt numbers we have and yet not focus on the elimination of the root causes; we choose to instead create a hero out of a man who came out of the very failing government system.
Did Martin Amidu not serve in government? Were the laws governing government procurement practices and procedures not put in place by the political class Martin Amidu live? Are our courts not administered by legal professionals as judges and practicing lawyers who come before them? Did members of Parliament not know what they wrote in the laws of the land pertaining to valid contract between the government and a private entity of full or part foreign ownership? How could the laws of the land be ignored by the courts who initially ruled in favor of Woyome and the prosecution officers who represented the government in both court cases? Martin Amidu was privy to these cases precisely because he served in the AG offices where the laws of the land are supposedly enforced on behalf of the citizenry.
If using government information (work product) to resolve a technical issue is deserving of a hero title what do we say or do about those who served in very similar government office but looked the other way as corrupt officials get away? We cannot make presidents out of those who incompetently discharge their duties at the Ghana AG's office or engage in selective prosecution if we're to make heroes out of those who enforce the laws. So while partisanship has become par for the course in this Martin Amidu story with some placing blame on the current government for incompetent representation of goverment it is just as important to call out Nana Akufo-Addo of the NPP for not reviewing contract awards from the Kufour administration he served. After all most of the judgment debts arose from shady arrangements between private parties and Kufour era contract work awards.
Would it not be logical to conclude that if the contract or lack of contracts between private entities and the government of Ghana have been above board, transparent and adhered to best practices and procedures under J J.Rawlings, the Kufour, the late Atta-Mills governments we would not have had this mess of judgment debts?

The release of the 'Amidu apology' letter was, undoubtedly, pushed by the thoughtless sycophants whose presence around the Presidency is for nothing but selfish, ruthless looting of our State Funds. They are the ones that are undermining the true patriotism that Amidu has shown to relieve Ghana of some of her burdens with Corruption.
Amidu has nothing to regret for, even he did write the letter of apology.
In fact, rendering any apology to the President does not necessarily reverse the appropriateness and truth in Amidu's contention that the Supreme Court reaffirmed.
Without Amidu, Woyome and his kleptocratic Officials in the Mills-Mahama Administrations would have kept their contrived judgment debt loot for good. Surely, Amidu's bold, patriotic protest and revelations did cause constellation among the NDC Administrations, and he might have genuinely wished a better situation for the Institution he had been part of. His apology must only be wisely seen in the context of how he never intended to put the President and his outfit in an awkward situation. But the Nation comes first!
It is most unfortunate that those who persuaded him to submit the apology had other insidious, venomous plot in mind to turn that gesture of his into an admitted guilt upon which to justify his dismissal.
Nevertheless, God being always on the side of the just, continues to expose the evil strategy of those who hate Amidu for doing the right thing. The Public rather empathizes with and admires him even more.
The more these shameful Nation-bloodsuckers attempt to discredit Amidu, the deeper they sink their own boat. If I were the President, I would have long reinstated Amidu, at least, given him some high reputable position in the Administration to have his soaring heroic fame rub on my Administration. The Supreme Court's consent and confirmation of Amidu's brief to retrieve the Woyome Loot cannot be undone by any dirt the kleptocrats in NDC dump on him.
The President better call his hound-dogs to order on this issue, or suffer heftier blows to his re-election campaign. Amidu must be praised by the President's team for showing that rare honesty and patriotism. Any astute leadership would even quickly capitalize on Amidu's exemplary patriotism and uprightness and claim them to be products of its organization, instead of doing so much to antagonize him, and suggesting it is against those traits.
