In Europe systems work therefore anyone be he a toilet cleaner as you say or a manager must be a methodical person. The system educates you and makes you become very structured in your thinking. Trust me a toilet cleaner in Ghana will do much better than many of our leaders and managers in Ghana today. As much as I consider this unguarded statement from Segbefia as a goof, and thus foolish, simply because of the misinterpretations and connotations that can be read into it, I do not consider it as grounds for another round to unleash insults on poor Ewes. I am quite sure Segebefia didn't make that statement with Ewes in mind, as he is very much aware of the complex ethnic diversity of the VR, and so was under the impression that he wasn't making a tribalistic statement. But it carries hints of favouritism for the VR.

Besides, must the people of the VR approach him before he does something about the deplorable state of our health institutions and the acute shortage of staff in them, even though it is claimed 70% of health personnel in Ghana come from the VR???

The VR has such a wide spread of ethnic groups of which Ewes are just one; just so as Akans, Adangmes and the many minor linguistic groups such as Bala, Lelemi, Santrokofi, Chokosi. Nchumburu, Nkonya, Konkombas, etc., etc. In view of the foregoing, I consider those viewing Segbefia's statement as tribalistic as rather the people with an ethnocentric perception. He mentioned "regional balance" as the basis for his selection. maybe we can accuse him of "regionalism".

However, I take a distance from his claim too. Even though the Constitution mentions that regional balance should be taken into acct. when appointing Ministers, competency and qualification count also. I'd preferred to be appointed on my merit rather than fill an imaginary quota for a region. That's why I considered it a goof when a statement was issued saying the current Min. of Housing, Dr Oteng or so, was appointed into the Cabinet and Dzifa dropped to fulfill a regional balance for Ash/R, not long after the outburst by the Asantehene. They could have said it was done because of the importance govt wants to attach to the housing shortage problem.

Can the daft NDC leaders stop making these can of statements and save us kind from grief?

When I wrote recently about irresponsible statements from the former Supreme Court Judge, FRANCIS KPEGAH, who had stated on record that if NPP were to come into power, " MOST OF US WOULD SUFFER", you Andy attacked me that the IDIOT KPEGAH NEVER MADE SUCH STATEMENT.

Now to cover your shame, you are again trying to defend this SILLY SEGBEFIA with the reason that THERE IS NO TRIBE CALLED VOLTARIAN. But in the Books of you INWARD LOOKING EWES, THERE IS A TRIBE CALLED AKANS!!!!

The UN family of nations is built on 193 states and the specialised agencies. Anybody in the service of the UN and any of the specialised agencies does not have to boast of their national identities but only work for the benefit of the people of the UN.

The same must be the focus of any Minister of any Government in Africa of many nations in one state.

They are voted to represent these district for the sole purpose of bringing development to their districts.

A Secretary of labour or Housing in USA which we call a Minister of housing or Labour cannot say I am from Colorado or Oregon so people from that state is what I represent.

When you are appointed to a position, you represent the whole nation, not a region or town so you cannot discriminate against any region. If a member of Parliament from Keta says you have to use me to get developmental projects to Keta, that will be appropriate and not tribalistic because that is what the people from Keta voted for him to do, to represent their interests.

We already know what Segbefia is ready to do for Voltarians. Not only was he part of the conspiracy that helped Woyome to steal 51 million GHc, but he also staunchly defended him insisting in numerous interviews that Woyome had a contract that was wrongfully abrogated. In any other country where a high sense of moral principles prevail, with the SC ruling against Woyome, Segbefia would not have been given another appointment in government. But this is NDC Ghana where tribe and party are the only things that matter.

Mr. Segbefia, your statement that people from the Volta Region should consider to take advantage of you and your office because you are from the Volta Region and one of them, is abhorrent, tribal and insult to the Ghanaian Intelligence. It would be understandable and ok. if you were a Volta Region Minister. But, as Ghana Minister of Health, your focus and responsibility transcends tribal and Regional affiliation and allegiance. Your focus and responsibility is to do the best within your capability for the nation as a whole. So, for you to show your intention and affinity for solving the Volta Region health system first, before and at the expense of all other Regions medical issues is shameful, sad and despicable. Such kind of inward looking attitude is a worst thing to do as the country's Minister of Health.
