Where in the article did it mention the boy being in the hospital? He was buried right away, the next day, in an attempt by the mother to cover up her crime.
Read the third paragraph from the bottom and you will see they rushed the baby to Amasamann Government Hospital.
I think the report about going to hospital is ambiguous. It seems they never really made it to the hospital. Note that "...he died later AS she and others rushed him to....hospital" (caps mine). It looks like they were on the ...

There are reports that doctors in hospitals are actively engaged in party politics. The situation has led to an unhealthy working relationship amongst health personnel. Traditional authorities must check this.
