Ghanaian Electorates should come out now to demand a new register before the EC comes out and claim that the time is too close to start a new register. Afari Gyan decided to create 45 new constituencies with less than three months to the last elections but claimed that the EC did not have the resources to train the personnel required to ensure credible elections. This is the leader of the EC but did not understand what over-voting meant! We should guard against these people taking the whole country for fools for the second consecutive time! We may not be as fortunate as we were in 2012 if anthing goes amoiss in 2016.

People must not forget the NDC and EC's definition of over voting. People must not forget about the issue of "ballot stuffing". People must not forget that even though we have biometric register there are still multiple registration in the current register. Again people must not forget that the EC and NDC did not make No Varifucation No Vote (NVNV) work. Ghana will only move forward when we have credible elections that ensures the selection of a credible leader.

The voters register will by all means be jettisoned for a new one. It is the most discredited piece of register ever to have come from the discredited Afari-Gyan led EC.
During the petition, Afari Gyan was talking about registering some Ghanaians abroad and the number he quoted was anywhere between the region of 250-350k, and this was supposed to be Ghanaians in our embassies, students on scholarships etc, who were eligible to vote.
When that claim was subjected to the strictest of scrutiny, Afari Gyan standing in the dock, could only produce the list of about 800 Ghanaians who fell under this category.
This and numerous other instances and also the argument being made with respect to the count of eligible registered voters vis-à-vis the total population makes the current voters register as it is currently compiled and composed, a screaming joke.
The register is so discredited it is amazing the EC and the NDC can defend something so outrageous, and goes to very core of the raging issues of the lack of credibility in this gov't, which lack has steam-rolled and found it's way and permeated a greater number of institutions in this country, for which Ghana is currently paying very, very dearly for it.
The uprooting of this rot begins with the EC as an institution tasked with ensuring the sanity and sanctity of the ballot and the electioneering process.
Ghanaians are demanding a new voters register because the current voters register is moving in very opposite directions to credulity, indeed it is diametrically opposed to credibility.

I like other well reasoned Ghanaians who believe in equity believe the Voter's register need to be reviewed. It is very citical to our democracy. As long as there are minors and dead people on the register, there is need to clean the register of these group. Aside this, there are foreigners who also registered and voted in the 2012 elections.
As to how this will be dealt with, the suggestion will come by the close of this month of April. It is being well thought through and there will not be hestitation when we come out.
Asiedu Nketia has maintained in the past that the voter's register has been bloated but today having benefited from the bloat in 2012, he claims it is ok. Ghana is not for NDC and cannot impose anything on the sovereign people. There must be integrity in our electoral system because election matters are very serious matters. Cheating cannot replace the will of the people of Ghana so we require a revised voter's register for 2016 and beyond.
The perosn to be the boss of the EC should be a person of integrity, nothing less than that.The democracy we are practising is not an avenue for parties to decide anything they want otherwise we shall necessarily go back to the days overthrows. We shall have instability in the country where the strong will be in charge. Where can Asiedu Nketia be in the era of the strong?He hould be careful with his comments otherwise he will regret oneday when the tide changes.

There is something seriously wrong somewhere that needs to be taken care of. Nketsia cannot take us for a ride, he is not bigger than the whole Ghana, right thing must be done. A new register must be compiled to ease the tension. Opposition parties must insist for a change, and until it is done, it must not be agreed on. According to the voter's register, Ghana has no future. A country that has about 75% of her population being adults cannot exist in the next 50 years. Let all the lecturers, students of higher institutions get involved and compile a credible register that can be relied upon. If the opposition allow this register to go through, they are finish. They could equally count it as if they did not take part in the election because it is going to be a field day for the incumbent if the register is not changed.

Let's do what Migeria did recently during their recent elections:
1. Have Personal Identification Number for verification to be eligible to vote. We can learn from Nigeria and better the process. That will cut off double registration, the dead, underage, etc. by this way we shall trim our voter register list.
2. Go the Nigeria way to have Collation Officers for the Regions and each constituency. We use self made people who are can't be easily bribed Our University Dons, Poly lecturers and other respected professional can do it as service to the nation. UTAG, GMA, Ghana Bar Association, Potag, the Clergy and Civil Societies should take the initiative to assist EC
3. Let's demo sift the EC strong room and do it the Nigeria way.
4. Similar Centres should be created in all Regionsl Capital to announce Constituency Results with Billboards erected near those Centres for everyone to see the certified results.

These should be part of our electoral reforms.
