Football as a game loses so much if its award of points or results are done not on the playing field but in the ballroom.
Team A is owing team B; then team A wins a match against team C; then team C lodges a protest that team A is owing team B quoting a certain law to demand that the results should be reversed and the Disciplinary Committee accepts this argument to declare team A loser and team C winner. What a stupidity. When wrong decisions like this are taken by people who should know better, it gives rise to speculation that some underhand dealings might have taken place.
When a team owes another team, the right thing is to make him pay his creditor even with interest and if he refuses, its properties can be seized according to law. To declare the owing team loser of all its matches seems to imply that the money it is owing has given it undue advantage to win its matches.
The Appeals Committee has therefore done the right thing by reversing an unjust decision.
