They left Ghanaians in SA in that unfortunate state and flew back to Ghana. The government then, after so many calls promised to send a chattered flight to evacuate the affected Ghanaian. I do wonder. At times like these, and the one reported of Christians (among them Ghanaians) being thrown overboard a board in the high seas to drown, one would have thought that such foreign policy issues would require unity among our political leaders and cooperation in putting out statements.

I rather find it disappointing that in Nana Addo's statement, the impression is being created that the current Ghana government is not doing enough, or that somehow Nana has to remind the president and the High Commissioner of their duty to Ghanaians.

Perhaps he would care to reflect on the roles played by our various consulates and embassies across the world over the years? And by the way, shall we wait for a statement of commendation from Nana about the efforts made by our ambassador in Saudi Arabia in securing the safe passage of Ghanaians from Yemen, or the efforts being made in respect of those apparently having difficulty in other states in the Middle East /Gulf?

Let's stop politicking and gt real about issues of foreign policy shall we?

What is wrong if the people of SA are protecting their resources, isn,t it right for them to be controllers of the jobs in SA? If foreigners who are coming from where there are no resources are the people ruling or controlling the job market, is this done anywhere in the world? What is different from what osafo marfo said which you support? You are looking more useless in most of us our eyes, know that not all are fools to be tricked just because of power.

Our own Aliens Compliance Order that the PP Administration under Dr. Busia pioneered in our sub-region was not that violent but might have been a precedent that these folks in South Africa and elsewhere are spicing with their own show of hatred.

The Busia Administration wrongly partly faulted the Aliens for our Economic stagnation and ordered them to leave in a few Weeks. Many left behind their lifelong possessions, including Land they had bought to establish Cocoa Plantations. Others had to abandon their Ghanaian families they had begun building upon marrying Ghanaians. Could we not have found a better way to legalize those foreigners to keep living in Ghana and contribute to our Nation's growth?

Well, we all saw what happened in the Agege Exodus. Ghanaians were vengefully brutally assaulted by the Nigerians, who were in the majority among those we repatriated; some of our Citizens were being burnt alive with tires and petrol. We managed, under one bright instance of shared patriotism and brotherliness, to bring most of them home safely. But others perished.

And now, this. When will the next such expulsion of our fellow Citizens from other African Nations occur and where? This incident must once again invoke determination in all of us, especially, our Political leaders to help make Ghana livable enough to curb mass migration of our folks outside.

No one can ever stop migration of our folks abroad. Folks travel for various reasons. But one thing we can control is reducing the rate of exodus to these foreign lands by building a better, more successful Nation here at home, where good jobs abound for all hardworking folks to succeed.

Those who have had the privilege to serve in the Government must therefore note that any Corruption they engage in to fill only their pockets and those of their cronies with our State funds and resources would be contributing to our folks' suffering in foreign lands as in this case. The blood of those of us forced out by Economic hardships could be indirectly blamed on the hands of these corrupt Officials, at least in part.

We are all responsible for keeping our house, Ghana, in order to enable all to make it here.

I would also hope that the AU quickly enacts some binding laws to guide member Nations on this issue of co-habitation with foreign migrants, so that such violence would not erupt to end the lives of innocent folks.

What will stop this ethnic cleansing or call it xenophobic attacks, is for other African Nations to in equal measure attack South African nationals in their various countries to send a clear signal to these animals in human flesh.

This days should marked as the darkest day in African history and be celebrated each year as such.

For once Boko Haram has acted well by warning these illustrates who are envious of other nationals.
