Definitely legal action would be a most effective way to bring the corrupt ANC government to book. This is not the first time xenophobic attacks have occurred in South Africa. It was even worse during the first occurrence in 2008. Then, as now, the ANC leadership waited until the last minute after over 60 deaths and hundreds injured, to send in the security forces. No doubt the ANC hoped the xenophobic attacks would let off the pent-up frustration and anger of the Apartheid-impoverished, and ANC-ignored South African masses and thus protect the ANC from the people.

In over twenty years, the corruption and incompetence of the avaricious ANC leadership has even worsened the living conditions of the South African masses beyond the situation under Apartheid. Unfortunately, the youth of South Africa have not been brought up with black consciousness, selflessness and national unity buttressed by people-oriented development and opportunities in education, health access and employment. Instead they've been left to wallow in unemployment and the squalor of slum townships without basic services. This in a country vastly rich in minerals and all kinds of resources and potential.

Jacob Zuma only cares about their accumulation of riches and concubines while his people suffer in acute poverty. For the masses it's "Apartheid with an African face!" The ANC's collaborationist leadership - led by Thabo Mbeki, Cyril Ramaposa et al - betrayed Mandela and negotiated a post-Apartheid South Africa that would bestow riches on this corrupt faction of the ANC. They now sit on the Boards of the large white, multinational corporations, and when workers in these sectors demonstrate, they are gunned down by South African police as in the Marikana massacre. Sharpeville becomes Marikana under today's ANC. Apartheid with an African face!!!

I think they are now the honchos of 'Neo-Apartheid.
The irony is that it is black south Africans attacking their fellow black Africans but not White south Africans doing the attacks and killings.
The ANC is an abject failure in the classic sense of failure. I miss the days of Primier Botha and F.W. D'Clark when discipline was the order of the day, because those days blacks don't discriminate but united. Two decades now and we have realized the white man is after all not the enemy of the black African; it is the African who is the enemy of the African.
Now we have our destiny in our own hands and we are failing and have failed.
The ANC has failed as a political party and as a governing party. It is infested with corrupt, inefficient, lazy, greedy, selfish and bigot politicians Africa has ever seen, making Robert Mugabe's government look better.

Xenophobia is everywhere in the world. To me, the South Africans have a case.Why should they as nationals not have employment in their own country while foreigners are prepared to take lesser salaries and do the same work many are capable of doing? What I disagree is the barbaric way they vented their frustrations, murdering innocent people.
Now coming to the case of Busia, all who were foreigners and had the correct documentation were allowed to stay. I am old enough to remember that episode. Not only Nigerians were asked to leave the country. Tax evading lebanese, syrians, Israelis among others were asked to leave because they were illegal and were dabbling in illegal gold,diamond and the Timber industry. Remember that Nigerians also reciprocated what Ghanaians did to them at a time when there was ECOWAS. If Ghanaians should ask Nigerians in Ghana to leave, where will they go? To Boko Haram area? How many Ghanaians live in Ghana now?
