O Lord I pray for Mother Ghana, that you reduce the number of FOOLISH VOTERS in 2016. Father the small number that will be left, wash their faces with sea sand so that they would be able to see the predicament they have put Ghana in through their foolish action, and change for the better. I pray that you let them vote this USELESS and CLUELESS GOVERNMENT out. Let those who these FOOLISH VOTERS envy because they are prospering as a result of which they vote foolishly so that they will be equal with them prosper even more. Father let those who are sympathetic to these USELESS VOTERS stop giving them money when they come begging, so that they will realize 'Ghana is hard', and vote wisely this time round. Lord, there are too many office to office beggars in Ghana, that is a sign of poverty, kick those who encourage this out of office. Merciful Father, too many FOOLISH VOTERS who have no sense of dignity are rewarded with trips to soccer matches only to go and sleep on the floor in foreign land, and eventually seek asylum, stamp that disgraceful spirit out of Ghana. Lord, you have blessed us with everything that can make us rich, but you seemed to have forgotten to protect mother Ghana from greedy politicians and thieves; we call on you to rise and let these nation wreckers scatter in 2016. They all applied the same constitution to appoint the out going chairman of the EC, a Chief Justice , Supreme Court judges and also some commissioners to the electoral commission and yet no Ghanaian raised a finger. Why are they now putting pressure on the president to side step the same constitution? What annoys me most is this so called mr documents. Just imagine a character like this also stampeding the president with his school drop out English language. Oh God save this peaceful country from these bloody scavengers!

I can't understand why it's so difficult for human beings to deal with dwarfs. Why does the NPP have problem with everything that has to do with the electoral commission except when they win elections? The last time, the NPP insisted the EC procure Biometric Verification Machines to give credibility to the elections. They said once the BVMs were acquired, they would be satisfied with the elections results. However, they went to the SC to challenge the same results just because they did not win. Before then, they did not have any problem with the results because NPP (Kuffour) won the elections.

Now is time for the President to appoint a new EC boss, the NPP is trying to re-write the constitution for us just because they are not in power to do the appointment.

Akufo Addo, I want to tell you something that you did not know, or have ignorantly refused to accept in good faith. Elections are won through the ballot box.The EC does not win elections for political parties. It does not matter even if you choose your spokeman Kwaku Baaku as the EC,you will still lose the elections. The signs are very clear that you have already lost it. President Mahama will go ahead as per the constitution and do what is demanded of him.

It is not the EC that would cause your defeat, but your behaviour.Your haughtiness,snobbishness and your disdain towards certain tribes of this country and your disrespect for the elected president are, but a few reasons why many discerning Ghanaians would not ever think of you rulling over them. The large section of our 1992 constitution should be rewritten immediately as it's lacks basic common sense and has given the president so many powers on almost everything which is quite dangerous to our young democracy going forward.The work load of a Ghana President is too much,he has enormous powers and he/she appoints almost everyone from miniisters,deputy Ministers to all Board of Dirrectors of every public institution. If you have a brilliant and hardworking president,no one would complain but a below average president will easily espose this via a mediocre output such as dumsor which is now threathening the livelihood and the lives of millions of Ghanaians,.The EC Boss must be an independent person but as the constitution stands now,its not possible to have an independent person because he will be appointed by one party and the president can choose to ignore everybody including his errand boys (Council of State) and no one can do anything.He can chose to appoint Asiedu Nketsia as EC Boss and no one can do anything and any court action against it would fail.These council of state members are now appointed by the president so there is no way they will be able to criticise the president where necessary on his bad policies without fear of losing his position.Any wise person will keep his or her mouth shut to keep his daily bread.These council of state members should have been appointed by independent bodies such as the christian council,Ghana Bar Association,The Various Muslim Councils,The Students Association,Trades Unoins etc.This is the reason I say that those that wrote the constitution did a silly & mediocre job on large sections of our 1992 constitution that lacks basic common sense.There is an urgent need to rewrite these large aspects of the constitution stripping the presidents on his powers to appoints council of state members,Judges,Council of State members,EC boss,board of directors of state bodies etc and this powers should be given to bodies such as the Ghana Bar Association,The National house of chiefs,The various Trades unions,The Christian Council,The muslim council etc.The constituton powers must be given to these bodies to appoint council of state members by open applications within their various association with broad public consultation.Anyone with a political affiliations cannot apply to be a council of state member.The constitution must also empower these council of state members to criticise the president on his bad policies where necessary.These independent council of state members must then appoint the independent EC boss etc

This Akufo-Addo's legal interpretation of the Article 70(2) renders his legal acumen a suspect.

When did some advice, even as a prescription by the Constitution, become an imposed obligation? If the Constitution intended that the President would have to accept the advice of the Council of State as a binding Act, it would have said so, in no uncertain terms.

What the Constitution provides for is the empowerment of the Council of State to offer such an Advice but does not encumber the President to adopt it, in contravention of which the President would have broken the Law, and subsequently be liable for impeachment. So, how would Akufo-Addo interpret a Consitutionally imposed obligation?

The subtleties of the Constitution must be well understood by all, especially folks like Akufo-Addo, who claim to be at the peak of our Legal minds.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Akufo-Addo is only prompting the President to pay such diligence to the Advice of the Council of State mainly for self-serving interest as well.

I bet my bottom dollar that had he, Akufo-Addo, been the President poised to make similar decisions, he would react to any such pressure to take the advice of the Council of State as not a binding rule, thus leaving him to make the final decision as he only deemed fit.

That said, any acceptance of the advice by the Council of State by the President would only have a superficial general approval that might mitigate public anxiety on the issue concerned. It does not guarantee the Public's outright acceptance of any flawed results the EC might put out under such a Commissioner so appointed.

Could we know from Akufo-Addo that had the appointment of Afari-Gyan been made by the same process he is advocating for now, he, Akufo-Addo, would have automatically accepted the results of the previous General Elections without dragging the EC to Court, as he did?
