Is JM corrupted or its just that he doesn't understand what a president is.
Teacher training, Nurses, doctor even farmers are complaining. JM makes Cocoa farming and the mining industries plus oil draining companies look stupid. Why should they be working hard and nothing, I mean nothing comes back to them.
People don't only work to make money, they work hard for everybody not the few.
Its a shame to NDC party member for not letting JM know he is not working for them and the whole of Ghanaian. No lights and one person can steal millions and walk free.

The same Bawumia always says the country is sinking,the economy is destroyed and we are rapidly reaching the highly indebted poor country status.He goes on to say that the IMF anchor cannot hold to confirm his pessimistic position of our economy.Now listen,govt cannot even pay qualified and newly employed teachers and nurses for sometimes over a year.I don't think it makes sense to bring back Alawa as it drains the govt coffers.We cannot say govt should reduce public spending and at same time urge govt to give teachers and nurses trainees allowances who are not sure of staying in the country.Many Ghanaian teachers and nurses find their way to overseas without serving the country at all.Bawumia is playing the the innocent or just being dishonest.Thank you.

What is the allowance amount of those professional students relative to the freebies politicians get from government? Can Dr. Bawumia promise to give all equivalent allowance amounts as given to members of parliament?

And if the argument against such suggestion is that those receiving allowances are not working and or not at par with members of parliament then I say why should government pay members of parliament monthly paychecks then turn around and provide them with free rent, free cars, free gas, clothing allowances, free utilities and reimbursed mileage? How is society supposed to get any form of restraint on government spending if the very people allocating expenditures are themselves incapable of self restraint because there is no limit to living with their paychecks? Why give these professions peanuts when members of parliament and executive appointees are eating all the national cake?

Will an NPP government pay allowances to students of the University of Education and Education students of UCC who are all training as teachers? If no, why pay allowances to students of colleges of education who are also training as teachers. Where is the equity? I trained as a teacher in 1971 -1975. Even then allowances had been stopped. It was wrong to have re-introduced it in the first place because it is not equitable and sustainable in a situation where others pay fees.

Honestly, let always put politics aside for a national interest. Over 90% of education budget goes in remunerations including teacher allowances. The world is talking about sustainable development. we keep pay so much money to teacher trainee with the aim of improving learning, yet every year, our children keep failing the BECE and WASSCE. Go to the north, Volta region and many of rural communities, education standards keep falling even though some of the schools have teachers. Again majority of Ghanaian children in rural communities cannot even identify letters of the English alphabet at primary 3. Let’s not forget that, Accra, Kumasi, Tamale and the so call big cities where claim a bit of improvement in pupil’s performance is the quality of teachers in such areas. Our entire educational system is in a mess and i am particular worried when we make a joke of it with our political differences. We always say “the future is bright” but for me the future of education has been lost since 2001. The question is, can we sustain these payments for the next 30 year? What are the implications on quality education? where are we going to get the monies from? are we going to bowwow again? how long can we keep borrowing? How long will NDC and NPP keep moving back and forward with matters of national development importance? Until we set a bipartisan educational policy for our dear nation, we are just going to keep moving in a circle of no hope in human development. Ghana is a potential developed country but as far as we have NDC and NPP “we are not far from “NOT-POTENTIAL”
