This is a clear travesty of justice. If KKD thinks he succeeded in buying justice he must be kidding. This stigma will follow him for the rest of his life. He would have been better off going through the legal system - and getting an acquittal. KKD is the most googled rapist in Africa. Ghana has really gone to the dogs. This would NEVER happen in any civilized soceity. No wonder Ghanaias continue to wallow in abject misery. Indeed, it's a failed nation!!!!

They say rape can occur when post consent, one partner withdraws same but the other party does not oblige. So the young could not have been that innocent. Why will the State now cite non cooperation of the alleged victim especially when the defence now has access the Police and Medical report? There was something in the soup.

Like you said KKD has not been proven guilty or innocent so why are you directing your anger at him? You seem to have a preconcieved mind that the man is guilty hence if even the girl had testified and the jury had returned with a not guilty verdict you still would have found it difficult to accept the verdict because you guys have already made up your minds. It is one thing for the prosecution to lose the case after trial, but it is another for the state to drop the case altogether. Ghana is indeed a useless country - a country without morals and full of scums. What message is the state sending to the brutes like KKD and his minions.

I also don't understand those of you who are getting yourself worked up on this case. Irresponsiblity is when educated ones like you let emotions take over your judgement and you judge someone based on media reports...get a life will you. If you have never heard of a woman accsuing a man of rape after willingly opening her legs then i'm afraid you are more naive than i thought and living in a different world, that probably explains your line of reasoning.

I am neither happy or sad for KKD, finally get your FACTS right! KKD has not been acquitted!!! He has only been discharged! There is a difference. If this lady decides in some years time to pursue the case she can easily do so.

But if you make a statement such as "I am happy for you though", you are by all intents and purposes lending your support to the act this man has been accused of. According to the report, KKD has been acquitted and discharged (read the last paragraph), which to me is a travesty of justice.

The facts as I understand them were very clear that a crime had been committed. Yes, the boyfriend might have reported the case to Police, yet the 19 years old victim submitted herself for medical examination to authenticate her claim and was advised to report the matter to the Police.

Mind you, this is not a civil case where the case is dropped when the plaintiff refuses to testify. The least the state could do is to subpoena the victim and present her to the court as a hostile witness. This happens in all jurisdictions where the rule of law is prevalent, and for you to show your excitement for KKD's acquital is rather unfortunate.

The case was not hear today because the state prosecution filed a "Nolle Prosequi" If your emotions aren't colouring your judgement then you should know that although the state could subpoena the lady to appear in court, the state CANNOT force her to testify, she only would appear and waste the courts time by refusing to comment. Once she wrote to withdraw her interest in this case, from that point on the state were chasing their tail trying to pursue the case.

I do not know KKD personally and i'm neither excited or angry but what i don't do and won't do is rejoice over another man's downfall or troubles.

Most people are angry he slept with a girl who could pass to be his daughter, but for rape accusations, until you know or have read cases where some women make false accusations when angry or hurt, you won't understand why i choose not to join the name calling and guilty tag being hanged around the man's neck.

To your point, there are many ways the courts can deal with a hostile witness of the state in criminal cases, for example, by citing them contempt of court and exacting heavy fine or imprisonment. This remedy is available to the state in our legal system. Then the question becomes, why did the state not exhaust all these options, knowing quite too well how prevalent the incidence of rape has become.

The outcome of this landmark case brings to the fore the inadequacies of the kind of prosecutors and in fact the calibre of people in the Athorney Gen Department. If the state prosecutors no longer have interest in the case why waste everybody's time. The key/star witness in the rape saga had earlier come out to say that she was discontinuing the case but these people who wanted to show him where power lies, insisted that they were going ahead with the prosecution without the involvement of the star witness. Why then the sudden change of heart. Or do we assume that the powers that be had advised them to discontinue. Whatever be the case I think it is a shame. My advise to KKD is to confess his sins if in deed he committed the act for God's forgiveness. Again I think he owes it a duty to get the lady to forgive him and if possible compensate her. I mean he has to do something to show his remorse.

he has NOT BEEN ACQUITTED AND DISCHARGED dumb media people!!! A nolle prosequi just means the case has been suspended for the mean time. He has only been DISCHARGED and they can always come back for him and continue the trial ...

Your headline is misleading and absolutely erroneous. KKD has never been acquitted, he was only discharged for now. Once its a criminal trial, the State may decide to call back the case in court if it deems it relevant.
