Parents and peers in Ghana today opt to not ask questions about the ill-gotten money family and other associates bring into Ghana from the Diaspora. In fact it has become a hazard and a chore to be an honest Ghanaian or of Ghanaian parentage making honest money from honest and legitimate work. We have a society and culture in Ghana that has come to worship money and greed without societal shame and condemnation. We see the results in more people willing to consult juju-doctors, others kill to earn presumed riches and others yet deal in the drug trade or the kind of crooked living on display by this Segbefia guy.
Let's face it we are running away because he got caught but there are many more Africans with homes and properties in their respective nations where every ounce of what they have came through life of crime. Many of our African women aspire to date these rotten rich folks from the Diaspora while the larger society has the riches of these contemptible creatures as the new standard for measuring success in Ghana and elsewhere in Africa. He is a criminal and or brought shame because he got caught; there are many more of him with properties in Ghana and or elsewhere in Africa and guess what it came from the earned freedoms without national morality of any kind.
