In as much as we condemn the teacher who was the invigilator, we must also consider(correct me if I am wrong) the age old WAEC rule that students taking the then GCE 'O' and A levels were not allowed to go out once the exams start until after the first Thirty minutes. Any candidate who left the room before except on acute medical conditions before the first 30 minutes were not to be allowed to come back to continue the exams. This was aimed at making sure students do not cheat after seeing the questions.If that policy or rule still exists and the teacher or invigilator wanted to implement it, that should have been explained and the student given the option. West African Exams Council should revisit some of these rules if they still are in force.

The teacher is not well trained. Any teacher who received good training would not allow this to happen. This is the result of that JSS and SSS Rawlings introduced.

the Dumsor fustration is so much, so why would we not hear of such cases, for all you know other students may be using going to toilet for exam malpractices so the invigilator felt the same would happen.

This is not a matter of DUMSOR. I have been a teacher and invigilator for WAEC before and the second part of Nanapa said is true. When questions are distributed, you get some students asking to use the toilet just after 5 minutes. The aim was apparently to look at APO as we called it then. That is why there was the first thirty minutes rule was there. The teacher should not under any circumstances ask the student to shit at the exams room. That is not WAEC, GES and Ministry of Education rule. Let me also say that some of these students are "something." I cannot draw a conclusion because many people do not know the facts about the situation.

The teacher probably thought the kid wanted to cheat on the exams and was feigning urgent use of the washroom. Don't condemn him until you hear his reason for behaving the way he did.
