Workers of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) in the Western Region who took part in yesterday’s May Day celebration at the Takoradi Jubilee Park, used the occasion to explain to Ghanaians that the ECG could not be blamed for the country’s current energy crisis known as dumsor.

The workers indicated that if there was anyone to blame for the current erratic power supply, which is making life unbearable for Ghanaians, then that person should be President John Dramani Mahama.

Even though the workers did not explain further, they alleged on their placards that the government alone owed ECG a whopping 1.6 billion cedis and stressed that the company shared in the pain of Ghanaians who are suffering because of the dumsor.

The theme of the celebration was “Addressing the Energy Crisis, the Role of Organized Labour.”

Most of the workers held placards with the inscriptions: “Dumsor is politically motivated,” “Dumsor, A Nation In Deep Darkness,” “Dumsor, Hold Mahama Responsible, Not ECG,” “Dumsor Is Not In ECG’s Dictionary” and “Punish the Corrupt Elements in Government,” among others.

Looking at many things John Mahama have said at epoch challenging times, since 2012, go to show that he is clueless and careless talker. He is unabashed shameful prolific 'promiser', even when he knows he can't deliver.

If he were any smarter he will fix the dumsor debacle and rein in the fast depreciating cedi instead of expecting employers to keep workers on payroll when they have no electricity to produce anything. What kind of nonsense is that? Fix the economy, that is the smart thing to do! Nsemfoo ara kwa!

So far as we know this government is corrupt, inefficient and injurious to our economic well-being. Step aside as you have proven you can't do anything properly. Lay off the legion of useless ministers without portfolios where you, instead of sacking inefficient and corrupt ministers, rather ensconce them at public expense. Private sector won't do business like that. Why burden the country with that useless deadweight cargo called ministers at the presidency or ministers without portfolio plus all those communication idiots? Why, Huh? Why cost us so much, and expect private sector to copy same? Sack all the ministers without portfolios.

To Nana Akomea and his NPP colleagues President John Mahama will never do anything right in their eyes. Even if dumsor ends today they will find a problem with they type of electricity Ghana produces. May I humbly ask Nana Akomea what NPP did to ensure consistent electricity supply when they were last in Government? Did they fail to predict growth in electricity consumption or why did they not invest for the future? Now this government is investing in future electricity supply as well as making up for the shortfall in investments that should have taken place in the past, amid fixing our current challenges. Only NPP and their magicians could expect such changes to occur overnight. NDC practices pragmatic politics and will not be taking lectures from those that have persistently failed our country when it mattered most. The same people who were conniving with the British not to give us independence; the same people who helped foreigners overthrow Dr Kwame Nkrumah; the same people who went round throwing bombs and destroying the little in terms of infrastructure that we have; the same people who beat their chest in wasting 8 whole months of our time with that bogus election petition; the same people that go about propagating tribal politics with the view to dividing Ghanaians; the same people who were dumping dead bodies in Volta Region to scare people unnecessarily; the same people who think constructing the Kasoa and Kwame Nkruma inetrchanges are a waste of resources; the same people who think modernising the Kumasi airport runway was unnecessary; the same people who cannot see any good out of the Teshie desalination plant; the same people who follow the president round the world to demonstrate and drive away potential investors; the same people who pillaged resources out of our country with lightning speed now expect Ghanaians to see them as people with the ability to salvage our economy? May God open the eyes of all to see these wolves in sheep's clothes for who they truly are.

Do we have leaders in Ghana or cruel criminals and what are the people saying - are they okay with them or they need a change? What kind of foundations are set up for the future children in my motherland Ghana? Even when something good begins, another government comes to abolish or demolish it. Everything is about them (the so called leaders) but never the future of the people. What kind of leaders are so cruel and useless and why do we even vote for them? The challenges we face are serious and real - that they would not be met in a short span of time; we need a leader to begin the process of rebuilding Ghana. I keep saying that, I never wasted my time voting for anyone when I was in Ghana because I did not believe any of them. But realistically, some came to do good things and others came to demolish certain good foundations. When I look through the lines carefully I find reality that, no government is Jesus but some are better in terms of economy than others; that, we send money to Ghana every week to our families and we have observed that, the cedi rate is always demolishing when NDC are in power but when NPP are in power, the cedi and its equivalent to the dollar is at a very subsided standard. Of course, NPP will use the money but they will better the economy than NDC. Because to the level of my knowledge, all these monies being given to them by IMF are just going to their pockets and for their campaigns. Remember, how many times do you hear NPP going for loan? But with NDC everything is borrow and never managed. From a deep throat source, every NDC member is assured of giving certain amount of money when NDC are in power, that, any money borrowed is shared amongst them, and that is one reason why we are always in debt when they are in power. Think about this: those abroad send money into Ghana's economy daily - why and how should Ghana even borrow and what do they use the money for? Because I know they do not give the money to any member of my family - I send money to them. And I also know for sure, that, the government does not give any money to any family member and still they cannot manage the money in the system - what is it? They are just using the money amongst themselves. Where is the money and who are they accountable to? Now supposing you have 100 dollars. And people in the world have sent you another hundred dollars. Remember, you now have 200 dollars in the system of the country's economy because the money is circulating. Why should you be in debt and for what??? Well, Ghana needs a leader not a president because it is only when we have hitched our wagons to something greater than ourselves that we would realize our full potentials, in as much as that, these so called leaders are there just to mess us up because they are only thinking about themselves and not us. This government could not use almost ten years to do anything better - what could he use one year to do? Now, people are going to suffer for jobs should IMF release all the money to them - but they are playing smart because they do not want people to know the details. You see, this is what I have been talking about, my country Ghana still do not get it, the mistakes are still ongoing, and it would take us another hundred years to develop because even this little things am talking about, someone will still not get it, and will go a vote for another NDC. This is a concern.

Corruption is non starter because Kufour who came to office with the so called zero tolerance of corruption did nothing and his party with majority in Parliament together with NDC minority took bribe of $5000 each during the sale of Ghana Telecom and a host of others .NPP therefore needs to tread cautiously when talking about corruption .
