Kennedy Agyapong thinks he knows it all. He, himself, is part of the problem that the NPP is dealing with regarding its leadership now.

His was one of the stentorian voices that chose to impose Akufo-Addo on the Party from the very beginning, calling him President-in-waiting and laying a red carpet for him to walk on, upon his return from a private vacation abroad, even before the Primaries.

Kennedy Agyapong, obviously, share Nana's xenophobic interests and could see his own fortunes soaring with Nana's Presidency, and therefore could only see what others are doing wrong, and never what he and Akufo-Addo have been doing wrong.

Surely, Ken is right that the NPP leadership is drifting away from the Party's common goal. But he is being disingenuous in pointing to anyone else besides Akufo-Addo who ever had some Presidential ambition for the troubles.

At least, Ken should have done better to cite both sides for the current crisis. If Akufo-Addo wants to ride the ship alone, acting childish with baseless suspicions against Kwabena Agyapong and Afoko and the others, and side-stepping them, why should they be blamed for derailing his ambition to become the President, if they sit out of his way?

It takes a certain high-mindedness to bring your internal opposition within your Party together to support you, if you won the Party's nomination to stand for it in an Election. But rather crudely, the Akufo-Addo camp has always seen all those previous candidates who ran against him in the Primaries as visceral enemies around whom his camp must weave needless web of distrust and build public sympathy from. That has been deepening the rift in the NPP.

We have heard President Kufuor and Alan, for example, proclaim their support for Akufo-Addo in his Presidential bid, as the NPP flagbearer. If nothing at all, all he has to do is reach out to them regularly to remind them of their promise to support him. In so doing, Nana would have to control the reckless insults on these folks by his radical, hooliganistic supporters who would rather seek some misplaced vengeance on those folks.
