KNUST failed to rusticate and report to the police a female student who beat up her roommate; the lecturers have been bought. It has been said that many lecturers lack teaching methodologies. What should be the minimum requirement in recruiting lecturers into a tertiary institution? Is it a masters degree or a PhD with a course in education??
Professors in tertiary institutions must read GES directives. There are many important and useful GES directives which would help them.
GES banned all forms of corporal punishment in Educational institutions but there are reports that some tertiary institutions are still carrying out this practice. Asking students to kneel down and so on.
Lecturers in tertiary institutions must recognize the fact that students in these institution are adults.

I can understand that the protest because politicians and govt officials enjoy unquestioned utilities at the expense of the taxpayer like free accommodation, free fuel, garden boys, maids and so on. But instead of taking the fight to the govt over such things, they are supporting the politicians who claim govt is cutting corners with the students. There is nowhere in the wolrd where government pay utilities for students and lectures. They rather take loans to pay for it themselves. By the way, how many of them stay in the country after completing their programes.Come over here and see them. We are giving them jobs all the time.Now, they are thrtening the government with votes. They can go to hell with their votes. They will be the victims.Why are they allowing politicians to decieve them? Instead of helpimng the governemt to buila a better future for them, they are fooling about.If they think an government will come to power and do magic for them, then they lie. I pray that you let them vote this USELESS and CLUELESS GOVERNMENT out. Let those who these FOOLISH VOTERS envy because they are prospering as a result of which they vote foolishly so that they will be equal with them prosper even more. Father let those who are sympathetic to these USELESS VOTERS stop giving them money when they come begging, so that they will realize 'Ghana is hard', and vote wisely this time round. There is nothing wrong for students paying their fair share to help the government in this situation because students need to understand that, the population of students in the three premier universities have grown some much that , the government alone can not do everything as the population of Ghana has increased overtime after independent from twelve million people to twenty six million today. The cost of going to university as at that time was different from now because of the population . I migrated to the USA in the early 1983 and had a degree in Aeronautical science from one of the best Aviation universities in the US and payed eight thousand dollars a year for tuition but today at the same school , students pay tuition of thirteen to fourteen thousand a year depending on the course and so student have to understand that, there is nothing like a free ride if they want to attain a good education in mother Ghana to get a better job when they graduate because we pay three or four times more in the US to obtain even a bachelors degree and so please stop wining and help your Government to pay your fair share of your bills for, remember you are all using light and water everyday in your dorms to bath and study .I hope everybody would understand this and explain it to your parents as well. I wish you the best in your struggles .
