In the first place, Busia was NOT an Asanti, and even if he was, his government's action had NOTHING to do with his tribe. Second, the Aliens' Compliance Order was a legislative instrument, (if know anything about rule of law). Ghana would DO IT AGAIN if undocumented non-Ghanaians rubbish our immigration laws and take us for granted.

Amongst ALL African countries, Ghana stands out as the MOST welcoming for our kith and kin from the US. This couple's death is very sad, unfortunate, unacceptable and un-Ghanaian. I hope the Police will do anything possible, including if necessary, seeking help from United States expertise to apprehend the perpetrator/s of such barbarism and bring them to face JUSTICE.

In the meantime, my friend, STOP writing NONSENSE, and get it in your mind that Ghana like many countries who value human lives, is governed by RULE of LAW,so if you're, for example, a Nigerian domicile in Ghana or the UK, respect the country's immigration laws and AVOID criminal acts, otherwise ALIENS' COMPLIANCE ORDER will RE-VISIT!!!

It is sad that these two human beings with such good intentions for mankind must end this way.

It is also painful that these people who have traveled all the way from their country where they have not known peace and respect, should come and die this way among their own people from whom their forefathers were forcibly and gruesomely kidnapped by the same kind of evil people a couple of centuries ago, to be used as slaves. It is so sad.

The said Minister of Chieftaincy and others who are said to have been their antagonists should all be immediately arrested without fear or favour and firmly dealt with if found to be involved with this senseless and needless murder.

It is unfortunate that our police is not quite up to the task of the odds that they face but as a country, we must clean our society of all these primitive and dangerous elements who go to such extents of killing to settle scores.

We sit here in Ghana and we condemn South Africans for inflicting appalling xenophobic crimes against other Africans, but here we are, doing the same thing - albeit on a smaller scale, to members of the African Diaspora.

It is such a shame that such a far-reaching crime could have taken place on Ghanaian soil. I am humiliated.

The Government must act fast to provide adequate security for foreigners in Ghana. It appears much of the assault on these folks stem from the perceived relative affluence they command among our hugely disadvantaged locals.

If we allow foreigners to be so easily murdered, Ghana would soon lose big tourism money and foreign investments.

Our foreign friends living among us must, also, not be too complacent with security to leave themselves unguarded. Ghana could, still, be among the most Peaceful Nations in the World. But the Oil fortunes, and unchecked corruption that is making a few filthy rich are turning some frustrated folks into murderous criminals who target outsiders more than locals.

"Private legal practitioner, Samson Lardy Anyenini late last year brought a suit on behalf of the leaders and against the Chieftaincy Minister whom they alleged had supported one Osofo to mistreat them using national security.

The Osofo was named in the suit as claiming right to the symbolic stool and skin created by the national house of chiefs to reintegrate disaporians.

Samson says that suit was withdrawn earlier this year after the Attorney-General (A-G) called for an amicable settlement."
The question is if the government has declared the status of the Afro Americans as an illegality, why did the Attorney General beg that the issue should be withdrawn from court. The answer is simple. Withdraw the case, kill the Afro Americans and case die.

He shouldn't have taken sides but to have amicable solution. The fact he hasn't got sight doesn't make him brainless. These african americans are only in ghana or elsewhere in africa in search of their roots, which they rightly deserve as has been granted to jews. Above all there are some white queens and chiefs in many of our rural areas which are just symbolic because of their contribution to the community. They are normally called "nkosuo"chief or queen meaning development king or queen. Rita Marley and even some ghanaians are few examples. I find it as a shame and demands the minister's resignation or sack.
I know there is no culture of resignation in our ghanaian politics. SHAME UNTO US.
