Who asked Dr Danaa to take sides in a chieftaincy dispute by solely declaring the chieftaincy status of the Americans illegal. Who sent the National Security Officials to go and harass the Americans. Ghana is one of the countries in the world that anybody can enter politics at very high levels without going through youth politics, that is the price we pay for all the inexperienced politicians who cannot even express themselves. Look, there are many factors contributing to the unemployment in Ghana; aged workers' refusal to leave posts, demand for experience by companies/institutions, lack of markets for local productions, high interest rates on bank business loans/credits, irregular supply of power and water, bad roads and many more. We cannot discuss all of them at the same time. We have to look at each and suggest solution for every factor at a time. So, don't confuse yourself with your BBA narrow knowledge and limited thinking.

If the government implements and enforces such polices, it would curb unemployment and meet the work experience being demanded by potential employers for new graduates. I volunteered through out university and when I was done, I got a position as a Government Relatoons and Senior Policy Advisor. I got the job because of my voluntary and industry experience.

Going by Ngi's analogy if the average university student graduates at age 23 and retires at 50 and dies at 72 he would have worked 27years and lived for 22 after retirement. Work the maths and see how much he would have contributed to his own upkeep after retirement. Ngi must certainly be a kid or does not understand how the system works

Let me tell you. there is no course in our universities that the universities cannot get a lecturer from any part of the world: it is not necessary that the lecturer should be Ghanaians. There are lots of Ghanaians in diaspora who are over-qualified and well computer-equipped than those old lecturing pensioners (who are still on contract). These resourceful diasporans do not want to go back home because the culture is that until those old lecturers die no one can replace them; we can classify this as the fact that there is most lecturers don't go on pension in Ghana because the contract still maintains them at post until death; a shield which frustrate the upcoming Ghanaian youth. How can we expect progress in this new scientific and technological era where countries are developing at the speed of light. We need to let the law work. No matter how professional a lecturer may be, there are more lecturers to replace him when he/she goes on pension. A pensioned lecturer should not have anything doing with universities anymore: he/she is supposed to go home, and that is all. If we don't let the law work by allowing very old persons to remain at post until death, why then do have to complain of unemployment. We should know that these old persioners at post are obstructing the upcoming generations. We should not blame government for it because we are the cause of our own problems.

Emmanuel, the unemployment issue cannot be put on aged-experience workers who their employers are still keeping them. The main issue is job creation. If the government is to make it viable by giving tax break and other incentive to existing entrepreneurs to expand and also would-be entrepreneurs to enter the field of creating businesses, the opportunity will be available for graduates and non-graduates to acquire jobs. Too much taxation kills businesses. If the government does not refrain from such attitude, a time will come in Ghana where nepotism will be very clear in public setups and if that happens in public setups, what do you think will be in the private setups? That will be worse.

Considering USA where the full retiring age of men is 66, the government is even trying to shoot the retiring age to 70 so would-be Social Security Collectors won't deep too much into the fund by going in early retirement at age 62.

Another area of concern is the Social Security Pension money paid to retirees which is just a slap in the face. How can one leave on less than GHC500 a month which equals to about $120. Can you survive with that? Hell not. The solution is government should give tax breaks and people with their hard-earned capital may come to play a meaningful role in the economy to get some of you people job to do.

The real solution is removing a lot of restraints put on Businesses, granting tax incentives and encouraging the real growth of business rather than the shallow crony capitalism the all Governments practice. The current atmosphere has compelled a lot of small business people to lay off workers. Stop collapsing businesses of your enemies and gloating over them. A high ranking member 9 f your party was gloating over a collapsed business of an NPP member. Unemployment sees no party colors.

The old men and women in the ministries an departments have understated their ages so much that there is no way they can go on retirement so that their children could also come to occupy the vacancy that would be created. The same people turn round to blame government for lack of jobs for their children who have been to the university. Oh!!!! What a comic Ghana?
