This' an insult to these institutions and the female world.
How many girls in these institutions informed him of their prostitution?
Why are girls in mix colleges not involved in the so called prostitution?
I urge both authorities and students in female colleges of education, to call on TTAG president to withdraw the statement and apologise to the institutions.

The days when many teachers left to Nigeria to teach left the classrooms empty; there was a shortage of teachers. The allowance was an incentives to get many into the training colleges. This allowance is no more feasible. The alternative is the SSNIT loan. The allowance is not an entitlement or a right. It was a necessity or a privilage and no more viable. It is the abuse of welfare in its highest form.

Some us went to school and were not given allowance and our female counterparts did not prostitute to be educated. Deputy Minister of Education, Ablakwa on many ocassions said on TV and Radio that trainees are being fed by Government 3 times a day so what is this story about students failed to return to school because they could not afford to pay high feeding fees. What makes you, the trainees think if you go on strike it will affect anyone? Ghana has tens of thousands of unemployed University Graduates and I am of the view that the government should seriously consider employing these unemployed graduates if the trainee teachers wants to hold the nation to ransom. Afterall, they were sent to the training by their parents and so their parents should bear the education expenses. Times have changed and so we cannot continue to think the same way we used to. Tertiary Education world over is not free any where and so I cannot understand the persistent call on government to pay allowance to trainee teachers who are in tertiary institutions. I expect politicians and stakeholders to call these so-called trainee teachers to order. It is their choice to go to training college and no one held a gun on their head to make that choice.

Let us take United States, one of the richest countries in the world, yet there is no where a teacher or a nurse trainee receives allowance. This can only be done in private institutions, but not the Govt. A developing country like Ghana with so many loans here and there, should think twice before giving allowances to students. I believe that, this program was instituted during the first republic, when people were not willing to go to school. Government of Ghana! It is about time you tell the people the allowances cannot continue. The loan system will work well for these students than selling their prescious bodies.

I reckon i went to a certain teacher training interview with grade 11 s.h.s, i was told to pay 10million as bribe before the admission n this made my dad so furious n i resorted to university, we university students should rather cry cos there's no allowances n after our services we have to struggle well before employment whiles the teacher trainees re so secured of thier employment, infact they should be contempt with the benefits they re enjoying.
