1) That the Ghanaian furniture makers couldn't have provided the 275 chairs timely; or "are you sitting down or standing up??"

2) That if the chairs were made in Ghana, then there should be more felling of trees, thus damaging our forest reserve inventory?? Is this man I once respected playing with a full deck of mental cards, anyway?

Mr. Bagbin or BINBAG (better), listen up: Ghana is not an industrial country, but rather an agricultural country, as compared to ITALY or China. So, you head Negro, which of these two countries, Ghana or Italy should have TREES for chairs? How long have you been living in caves in the North—specifically in Nadowli, Negro??

Ladies & gentlemen, this shows all of us the high level of naked hypocrisy, big lies, arrogance, duplicity, lip service to our local business people, foolishness and doggone wanton folly. Clearly, we all know that Africans always PREFER MADE IN ABROAD goods to African made goods—simple and pure—else what kind of example are our own elected officials are setting for the rest of us and for the local industries?

I told a female friend the obvious a few days ago, when we were discussing American RICE and Ghanaian RICE and she told me that “the Ghanaian rice is not all that good as compared to the American variety” and that when the Ghanaian rice is cooked, it doesn’t stick together like the American rice. Well, I gave her a short pass on that, because she has been here in America for only about two years.
But, that made me to conclude that "even a bush fowl or grasscutter or antelope in America or Europe would be preferred to those in Ghana”—because those meat from abroad would be considered as TASTING better than those in Africa, although Americans or Europeans don't have bush fowls or grasscutters these days—and that's the STINKING African attitude. They always prefer “made in abroad goods to made in Ghana or Africa.”

This is no mean a position and we expect him to be circumspect in handling such delicate issues like this one. Either perhaps he is aging or he feels complecent that being considered one of the proverbial three wise men in town whatever he says can not be disputed. This cheap political talk of preserving the country's forest reserve as the reason of not contracting our hard working folks in the industry to provide the parliamentary chairs is completely a lose talk. Mr. Bagbin should come again.

Now the Majority Leader is giving us one of the reasons the chairs had to be imported from Italy is that "local manufacturers could not have provided the required number of chairs". Of course if he didn't take us for fools he would have concluded by giving us the time frame the chairs needed to be produced. Mind you, the project has been going on for God knows when.

Secondly if he didn't take us for fools why would he tell us the other reason is to protect our forests from being depleted when he well knows that in the meantime we are exporting timber and wood products?

And "state-of-the-art edifice" my foot!

Haba! And these are supposed to be our leaders. Tweaaa!

The chairs would have been produced on time for you to move into your new offices on time.

Truth is that we Ghanaians love foreign made products. Stop the hypocricy of advocating for Ghanaians to buy and use locally made goods. You are not setting a good example by importing chairs from Italy. If you do not want to use locally made chairs, why ask the people to buy and use locally made goods.

We all like nicer things in life. You buy from the West and ask us to buy local - what a hypocricy. You are teaching us to be corrupt and that is why a lot of people are migrating to the West and never coming back home.

You know very well that majority of the people are illiterates and taking them for granted. Your time will be up soon. If Ghana parliamentarians have any moral code and conscience, they should REFUSE to accept the Chairs and replace them with locally made ones. For an entire country to sleep in such a vomit of Corruption is unbelievable.!

1. Ghana drills crude oil to export but same Ghana buy crude oil to run Tema oil refinery, when we said something the excuse was the equipments in TOR cannot process Ghana's crude oil(what a shame! !!!) can't the equipment be retrofitted to process crude from Ghana?

2. Listen to this bull shit this MP is talking about we continue to cut down trees for export then we go back to buy furnitures made of particle board ( For those of you who do not know what particle board is., it is a saw dust mixed with glue and pressed together to make boards the size of the board depends on the mold used) I was a sales specialist and I sold a lots products from China. Wood crafters in Ghana could have made furnitures with Ghanaian accents just beautify these offices.

And is Hon Bagbin telling us that the chairs being used by us including them in Parliament are not up to 275? They are sure in the millions but they were mainly made by our local furniture manufacturers. I think the NEW itself is working to lose the 2016 elections by their words and deeds.
