I am told the govt pays less than GH¢1.00 a day for feeding them which is even in arrears for more than 6months,can you perform if you're the Chief Psychiatric Officer?

Very soon, we will vote for chiefs and their elders to become Presidents and Ministers in Ghana because the Degree holders can't perform. The chiefs have more experience in the society.

Yes our mental health facilities have limitations but it looks like the family put her in chains. That's something no doctor needs to advise them not to do. Commonsense sense and compassion should not be taught to anyone let ...

Commonsense sense and compassion should not be taught to anyone let alone a whole family. It's Sheer wickedness at play here and it should be condemned in no uncertain terms. If the young woman had a relapse, the sensible thing to do is to take her back to the hospital. Dosso or whatever they are called should get involved and consider prosecution. As a handicapped person, surely the law should ensure the family are responsible for her welfare. If it was inheritance they will all be claiming to be family.

When you have an opportunity to make a difference in society (this woman's life) you cease it. How does the reporter know she walked from Ashiaman to central Accra? There is no information on how the reporter knows she is being abused and why the hospital keeps sending her back to her family if she is being abused. What kind of abuse is she going through?

We are left with a whole range of questions and no answers. Also, she is a person first, please stop referring to her as a "madwoman"

Dr Osei and his team are doing well to reeducate us to receive our folks who have been to their hospitals . I personally admire this Dr Osei. But please the education has not gone down yet and so it's too early for him to be releasing the patients. We have always believed that once mad always mad, so it will take sometime and a lot of education and persuasion to get things right. My appeal to him and his team is that ; this is Ghana , having a mental patient under ones roof is had to entertain, even though eh/she is healed. It is up to tDr Osei and the team to mount a vigorous public education, bringing cured patients on to speak on tv programmes , this will help our illetarete folks see practically that their kith and kin has been cured. There is too much talk talk without any concrete proof to show how it works.
