There is a nation wide ban on employment and long list of graduates better than these semi-illiterates in colleges. The graduates can be recruited to fill the existing gap while the colleges be closed down forever. It does not make sense either to go on strike.

ndc is always lying about everything...Caterers under the National School Feeding Programme in the Greater Accra Region have complained that they have not been paid for their services rendered since last term September, threatening they would not continue working come next academic year in September if they are not paid.

They said several cheques issued to them by the National School Feeding Secretariat have bounced and they are at a loss why that is happening, because the cheques are Bank of Ghana Cheques.

Most of the Caterers who spoke to the Daily Searchlight Newspaper, noted that they have been forced to take loans from the banks to ensure that they cook for the students but the interest on the loans they have taken had gone up due to default payment.

The caterers maintained that the current economic challenges facing the country are affecting their purchasing power.

They disclosed that they have been receiving threats from managers of the programme anytime they complain of luck of cash.

In the past cert A holders had to work for years before proceeding to acquire diplomas or degree , but of course with the permission of GES. I hope it's not the case of these trainees not knowing their level? Could it also very the case that they are not aware they could in for students as it pertains for all student at that level? They might be to check the type of leaders they elect because the more they stay home the more costly their education becomes. Some of us had to stay home for 1 yrs in the 90s because universities were on strike and that is what is what has affected education till now because then there were 2 groups of students wanting to be admitted by the time the 9months strike ended. Govt and stakeholders must educate these trainees about their level. Leadership is important in the part these trainees. We can't stay in a country where we want everything free and yet want development. Students in Britain , U.S. and most of these advance countries pay fees so we really can't complain.

It would be incorrect to think the government would restore the payment of the allowances to the trainees. it is anachronistic, they must learn to forget about it, it was a drain on our economy, it was not getting, in most cases, the right caliber of trainees as the allowance was the prime factor. It is a mistake to expect the allowance any longer. It is justifiably gone for good! No argument could restore it. they must learn to do without it.

Just consider the fact that some applicants are denied admission just bcos govt cannot afford to pay for allowances for a huge number. It is very simple. Afterall, all students buy books and do do attachment so what's the big deal here.

These tr trainees are not serious, have they seen students in any tertiary institution being given any allowances? So why do they want to be treated differently? Already, they are being fed three times a day, which to me is even undeserved bcos no other tertiary students enjoy that. They should also know that there are several teachers b4 them who did not take any allowances while in training. So they should stop behaving like spoilt children. They should be satisfied that unlike their counterparts in other institutions they wil have ready and secured employment when they complete their training so they have no cause to complain. Things are really hard in this country and if everybody shd be demanding their pound of flesh where will we be heading. Thats why i support the president to scrap this article 71 office holding nonesense from our constitution and all must join in this crusade to save our nation from the haemorrage!

What is more is that most of these trainees become useless as far improved teaching and learbing is concerned. The public school pupil no nothing after school and it goes to show poor and wasteful our teachers are. Majority of those who end up in big schools went to private schools and were taught by sometimes, brilliant shs graduates. Govt should simply ignore them.

why did the colleges turned their names example ()Batco to (Bace) and (Tatco) to Tace this is to prove that they have attained tertiary state so why allowance? go take loans like other tertiary students do nonsense.

@ Rashid if it was Beto and now BECE what difference had it make? u can go n check that there is no different in the course they are doing and when come out is Diploma in Basic Education not Degree in basic so u can tell the ...

Tertiary school you will wear school uniform and go to dinning three times a day and sign that you want to go out. tweaaa for this it, is better for people to call it post secondary school cos there no different btn SHS and College of Education

If the govtment. isn't ready to foot the bills for the tr. trn. coll. anymore, then why dnt they close it down, and concentrate on the graduates from uew and ucc.

These block heads who couldn't gain admission into university. Let them be on strike it's good because almost all the students they teach fail their waec exams and end up following them into teaching . Nonsense people
