  Every crop needs fertile soil to thrive. Whilst is possible for robust plants to succeed in bad conditions, the majority need to have at least fair conditions. If you are a start up, no matter how good your plans are, you can easily be overwhelmed by adverse conditions. The companies this ceo mentioned are all large or matured companies with access to capital to invest in the research and other factors of production. They don't borrow at 30%, they can plan because their currency is stable.
  Of course people can still invest as problems can be turned into opportunities but even when you manage to turn one problem into an opportunity, there still remains lots of other obstacles you aren't able to overcome. For example, the ceo mentioned dumsor as an opportunity to sell generators but there still remains the problem of finance which he didn't mention a solution for.
  The cream will always come to the top but good governance is about the majority. Why is it that more businesses thrive in a good economy than a bad one. If the government creates good conditions and the majority still struggle then you can complain

Look around the world and see if there is a correlation between good governance and successful businesses. All the examples of companies given are companies who come from countries with good foundations. Like they say, no one is an Island. You need a good network to succeed. Even when you have a good business idea there's no guarantee you will get finance at a reasonable cost to make the whole project a profitable one. All the business men I talk to point out the degree of uncertainty in the economy is the most challenging thing to deal with. Of course it's possible but let's face it. It's bloody difficult.

Ask the banks they. have their stories to tell ; many interventions in the past have been abused !

  What you have proposed is a much better solution than what the CEO has proffered. So you see if we challenge our leaders positively, we will come up with workable solutions needed for our economic growth and development. I did not insult the CEO but I simply challenged his idea so it can become better. We are not used to that in Africa but it is high time we adopt the "challenge culture" so that our leaders do not take us for granted but work harder to come up with solutions that will make a difference in our economy.
  
  Now we have a short-term, medium-term and long-term plan for entrepreneurs who can venture to exploit the opportunities that the dumsor presents on a more sustainable basis.

  How many manufacturing companies can he cite as example- relocating to Ghana. Banks only thrive on other sectors hard earned income with high charges and high interest rates. Which bank will not like to work in country where interest on loans is above 30% and banks are quoting as high as over 40% annual returns. That tells you a sick economy Mr CEO.

  Talk is cheap and we turn to invest into areas where 'fearless and crazy' CEOs take advantage of the economy - not in areas that can solve crucial problems because we know our 'craziness and fearlessness; is not adequate to meet the turbulence in these crucial areas.
  We can however call on others to get 'crazier and more fearless' and take advantage of what we would not go into.

  NPP Second Vice chair Sammy Crabbe has vowed not contest for any position in the largest opposition party again if the decision to suspend National Chairman, Paul Afoko is not reversed.
  
  “Me Sammy Crabbe I will not put up myself for any position again,’’ he told Joy News’ Kwakye Afreh-Nuamah.
  
  Since internal party turmoil progressively seized the NPP after April 2014, the NPP second Vice chair has been a faithful supporter of two national executives, Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.
  
  The two have been constantly accused of dictatorial tendencies and working to undermine the chances of Nana Addo, the party’s flagbearer in the 2016 general elections. They have strongly denied these claims.
  
  Mr Afoko has however been suspended indefinitely following a unanimous decision by the third highest body in the NPP, the National Executive Committee. The embattled NPP leader has been accused of being a disruptive, divisive force in the party eager to win political power in 2016.
  
  Paul Afoko who has been replaced by First National Vice-Chair Freddie Blay, is currently appealing that decision. Mr Crabbe has thrown in support for a campaign to ensure that decision is reversed.
  
  He also says he doesn’t recognize Freddy Blay as acting chairman despite the massive endorsement by party bigwigs after the NEC decision.
  
  Sammy Crabbe who was former Greater Accra Regional Chairman also put a freeze on his political future. Paul Afoko’s fall will signal an end to any interest in an elective office within the NPP, he signalled.
  
  ‘’If this is allowed to hold I don’t have any guarantee...why should I go through the expense and the risk of trying to get into office just for the laws to be broken?.” he said.
  
  He has also severed ties with Freddie Blay’s administration vowing never to step in any meeting he calls.
  
  “If he convenes a meeting I’m not going. If I do next time you’ll be asking me to recognise a coup d’état. I can’t just accept that. I don’t fear. I’m courageous,” Crabbe stressed.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  Mr Ampadu, thank you but the time is past for resolving disputes in the party. This thing has been going on for far too long.
  
  As a member of a group, you are bound to follow the rules and decisions taken by the leadership of that group and if you insist to pursue an individual agenda as this Crabbe guy is doing, then you cannot be a team player and ought to leave.
  
  Paul Afoko has been suspended by the NEC of Npp and until he is reinstated, the new Chairman rules.
  
  The way I see it, Mop might even be better off if these individuals leave and form their own political party.   What a shame, Sarpong, to tell Mr. Crabbe to go to hell! It is such arrogant intolerance of others' opinions that has culminated in the current chaos in the NPP.
  
  This isn't the time for that kind of foolhardy psychological verbal machismo. It isn't how tough you can portray your side of the argument to be that would help resolve the issues at stake in the Party.
  
  What you may have to think about more seriously is the likelihood that others might follow Mr. Crabbe's path to further weaken the NPP. If many more of the prominent leaders in the Party begin to decline their active participation or representation in the NPP, many ordinary members who support these leaders would also begin to withdraw their support for the Party.
  
  It is most disheartening that the NPP leaders who have colluded to victimize Afoko seem to underestimate the harm their illogical unfair treatment of him could do to the Party.
  
  Let's face it. The NEC has not been fair in dealing with the crisis, as it takes sides to leave Abankwa Yeboah and Freddie unscathed while dumping Afoko for a breach all could be faulted with. So, be careful what you wish for. It may not only be Afoko Mr. Crabbe could take away with.

  That is really illogical and stupid argument. Have you read and listen to this Crabbe guy? He has taken an entrenched position that he is not willing to compromise to find a solution to this impasse and will not recognize the decision taken by the leadership of the Party.
  
  Sometimes you have to take harsh decisions that will be inimical initially but will permenantly strengthen the party in future. If you fear to lose, you can never win.
  
  Ndc went through the same problem when Dr Obed Asamoah formed a splinter party from Ndc. Ndc suspended one Professor Aryee or Dr Dr Aryee who was their General Secretary before Asiedu Nketiah and the Party moved on.
  
  Ndc recently suspended Kofi Adams for bribery allegations and eventually reinstated him and he came back and won a top post in NFC. Dr Obed Spanish also came back to Ndc after his splintered party failed miserably in the 2008 elections. Let all disgruntled Afoko backers leave Npp and form a party. They are weakening the party for being in and leaking the party election strategies to their opponents.

  I will say adieu to Mr Sammy Crabbe and he should not forget to drag Mr. Paul Afoko with him to hell. The internal Npp wrangling is a recondite issue that should be approached with tact and boldness and the time has come for crossroads to be crossed in order to safe the party from implosion.
  
  The time has come for this ferhoodle in Npp to be settled once and for all and if it is going to be a mass suspension of some people or the Party to be divided into two with a splinter group led by the Crabbe/Afoko group, so be it. The leadership of Npp has failed the teeming supporters of this great party with this never ending saga of infighting amongst the leadership. Since the election of Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong at the Tamale congress, Npp has been tottering on implosion due to the ignis fatuus agenda of Paul Afoko/Kwabena Agyapong faction including this Crabbe guy.
  
  It all started when Afoko brother and some people murdered the Upper East Region Npp chairman, Adams Mahama who was perceived to be a staunch Nana Akuffo Addo supporter and a political nemesis to Paul Afoko.
  
  As a political party, the main agenda of Npp like any other party is to win political power and the moment Nana Akuffo Addo was voted by more than 94% of the Npp delegates, he became the head of the Party and all other individual objectives should have been subjugated for the good of the party by pursing the sole aim of getting Nana Akuffo Addo elected as the President of Ghana but the Afoko group has a different agenda.
  
  Now Paul Afoko has been suspended as the Party chairman by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and Party Elders. Paul Afoko, if he wants to protest his suspension should use the Party internal structures instead or organizing protests at the Party headquarters by busing people from other areas which has resulted in another Npp supporter from Asawase constituency in Ashanti region murdered by Afoko supporters.
  
  As a member of a group, you are bound to follow the rules and decisions taken by the leadership of that group and if you insist to pursue an individual agenda as this Crabbe guy is doing, then you cannot be a team player and ought to leave.Paul Afoko has been suspended by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of Npp and until he is reinstated, the new Chairman rules.   As NPP patriots, we should be wondering why these NDC sympathizers are supporting Afoko and his gang of moles inside our party.
  
  My answer to G.K Berko and his like minded NDC supporters who want to see the end of NPP is that, we are not going anywhere but we will stand and protect Ghana from NDC who are stealing everything in Ghana that is not bolted down with Fort Knox padlocks.
  
  G.K Berko's argument is illogical and stupid. Is Npp the first party to suspend some members from its fold? Sometimes you have to take harsh decisions that will be inimical initially but will permanently strengthen the party in future. If you fear to lose, you can never win.
  
  Ndc went through the same teething problems when Dr Obed Asamoah when in opposition who broke away and formed a splinter party from Ndc. Did Ndc vanish from the Ghana political scene?
  
  Ndc suspended one Professor Aryee or Dr Aryee who was their General Secretary for an allegation of taking $2500 from NPP before Asiedu Nketiah became the General Secretary and the Party moved on.

Dr Obed Asamoah also came back to Ndc after his splintered party failed miserably in the 2008 elections. Let all disgruntled Afoko backers leave Npp and form a party.   The Ashanti Regional Party Chairman, Antwi Bosiako was once suspended as the Party constituency Chairman from Bosomtwe and worked his way back to become the Regional Chairman. In any Party or group, there are laws that its members should follow and failing to do that results in a form of punishment. If people in NPP don't want to abide by the laws of the Party, "The road is on their face", they should leave and close the door behind them. We should not be afraid of people leaving the party and forming another one. We experienced this phenomenon before in 1979 and we are still here.
  
  No splinter party in Ghana has ever won an election or has been able to survive after one election circle. If Crabbe, Afoko, Agyapong, Nyaho Tamakloe, Wereko Brobbey and Arthur Kennedy want to go and form their own party, "THE ROAD IS ON THEIR FACE"
