The new price regime announced by the Group Managing Director/Chief
Executive Officer, GMD/CEO, of Dangote Cement, Mr. Momoh Balogun, pegged
the Dangote 32.5 cement grade at N1,200 per 50 kg bag
A statement
by the company at the end of a management meeting said, however, that
the new prices were exclusive of the Value Added Tax, VAT, representing
about 40 per cent discount on the prevailing market price of the product
currently sold for N1,200 irrespective of the grade, across the
country.
Balogun said the move was in line with the company’s
commitment to the nation’s dire need for the development of
infrastructure and to boost the federal and state government’s ongoing
effort to reduce the near 20 million housing deficit in Africa’s largest
economy. The management now offers cement at low factory price and
deliver to anywhere in the country as far as customers are ready and are
willing to place their orders.

I don't know who brought this directive in because it's a plain incentive to steal. This is going to all MPs so crooked NDC and NPP MPs will steal.
The problem is not simply NDC and NPP it's a mentality issue in Ghana, too many people seem to think bribe and getting something for nothing is how it works.
When Ghanaians born outside or who have lived outside call out the point that corruption in Ghana goes from the President to the chop bar vendor we are told we are too known.
Nothing will change unless corruption across all aspects of Ghanaian life is seen as a wrong and not only when politicians are corrupt.

Meanwhile fees for service provision at Korle Bu has gone up by a whooping 150%, tentative signs of a collapsed NHIS, with gov't still owing service providers and pharmaceutical suppliers millions and millions and millions of cedis, which are in arrears for over 6months.
Clearly, there is a huge disconnect in the health service agreement between contributors to the scheme and the NHIA in terms of it's mandate.
The critical question the NHIA should be answering is what health-related projects being undertaken by MP's is the NHIA financing, and how does that improve health services in those respective constituencies, and is that the core mandate of the NHIA, to be financing health projects of MP's?
Is the Sly Mensah-led NHIA attune to it's responsibilities and demands with respect to it's mandate, in the face of the collapsed state of the NHIS?
Besides what happened to the DACF and what is the purpose of that DACF with respect to development at the local level?
What has happened to that fund for which reason the NHIA is now into the financing of health related projects being undertaken by MP's? What is the constitutionality of this action by the NHIA vis-à-vis projects to be undertaken by MP's?
Clearly, the Mahama-led NDC gov't does not know what it is about in governing this country, and it has become absolutely chaotic and dangerous on some many levels for the growth and development of this country, and Ghana is ill-prepared and can ill-afford such a breakdown and downright cluelessness of governance bordering on the obtuse, and clearly, the Mahama NDC gov't needs to go.
The consequences of the obvious lack of competence coupled with the thievery has become an existential threat to the very health of the country and the Mahama-led NDC gov't needs to go.
Ghana deserves this change at the ballot box in 2016 and it a critical imperative which is a must.
