  There was an old country preacher who had a teenage son, and it was getting time the boy should give some thought along the line of choosing a profession. Like many young men, then and now, the boy didn't really know what he wanted to do- and he didn't seem overly concerned about it.
  
  One day, while the boy was away at school, his father decided to try an experiment. What he did was, he went into the boy's room and placed on his study table these three objects: a Bible, a silver dollar, and a bottle of whiskey...
  
  "Now then," the old preacher said to himself, "I'll just hide behind the door here, and when my son comes home from school this afternoon, I'll see which of these three objects he picks up. If he picks up the Bible, he's going to be a preacher like me, and what a blessing that would be! If he picks up the dollar, he's going to be a businessman, and that would be o.k. too. But if he picks up the bottle, he's going to be a drunkard - a no-good drunkard and Lord, what a shame that would be."
  
  The old man was anxious as he waited, and soon he heard his son's footsteps as he came in the house whistling and headed back to his room. He deposited his books on the bed, as a matter of routine, and as he turned around to leave the room he spotted the objects on the table.
  
  With a curious set in his eye, he walked over to inspect them. What he finally did was, he picked up the Bible and placed it under his arm. He picked up the silver dollar and dropped it into his pocket. He uncorked the bottle and took a big drink...
  "Lord have mercy," the old man whispered, "He's going to be a politician!

  No Clergy is demonising any politician or politics. It's today's criminally corrupt and dishonest politicians having their own shadows chasing them for their stinky greedy materially centered immoral egoes.
  
  Ghanaians do not need anybody to tell them we have demons in our politics ruining and wrecking our dear mother as we are human and feel the disgusting mismanagement of the national economy and the unbearable hardships combine with promises that are never fulfilled.
  
  The credibly dignified and honest God fearing brilliant Ghanaians with vision and love to selflessly serve country and people of this once enviable peaceful nation, Ghana we knew are certainly not the same crooks and monster criminal people we see today as politicians who have no ethics and shame to tell lies and lies becoming the only medium of communication which is their lot.
  
  Mr. minister go look carefully into the mirror and come back to tell us what the mirror says about yourself and apologise for your senseless blaming of our noble Clergies.
  
  Any wrong pointed out to your stinky criminal SADA/GYEEDA, STX, Barton Oduros/Betty Mould Iddrisus, Woyominized Mahama led government is politics and its either the make of an opposition party or Clergies or some social critics paid y somebody to criticize the non performing government, are you that stupid?

  It is a shame that the Minister failed to appreciate the good intentions of the Pastors and has misconstrued their criticisms of the immoral practices by elected officials as demonization of politics and politicians. The Minister should please be informed that no clergy has ever attacked politics per se, but have criticized the bad policies of politicians, their insensitivity to the plight of the suffering people, the lavish lifestyles they live with impunity at the expense of the people who elected them etc. If the Minister is still 'intentionally' oblivious to these things then I am afraid he and his ilk are beyond redemption and no amount of prayer will bring the necessary awareness to them; and big-mouthed pastors like Rev Martey will continue to perpetually haunt them.
