Ritual Murder Hits Kumasi
MONDAY, 12 DECEMBER 2011 07:43 E-m

The body of a woman believed to be in her late 20s was found at the Crop Research Institute junction at Fumesua in the Ejisu-Juaben municipality of the Ashanti Region in the early hours of Sunday.

The deceased was half-naked when her body was spotted at about 5:30am and suspiciously, her pelvic area and clitoris seemed to have been tampered with.

According to an eyewitness, the legs of the light-skinned victim were wide open when her body was discovered at the junction on the Kumasi-Accra main road.

The eyewitnesses told DAILY GUIDE that the deceased was lying in a pool of blood when some persons who were on a 'keep fit' exercise came across her body at the junction, which was close to the premises of the Building and Research Institute.

When the paper got to the scene at about 10:00 am, the remains had been taken away but the blood stains were still visible on the ground.

It was not clear whether the deceased's assailants killed her at a different location and dumped her body at the junction.

Mourners and other residents of Manso-Abore in the Ashanti Region were thrown into utmost shock when they carried a corpse to the cemetery for burial only to discover gari and cola nuts in the grave.
Sixty-four year old Comfort Adjoa Nyarko was killed on her farm about a month ago in suspected ritual murder in the Amansie West District.
Her mutilated body, with her tongue and other parts missing, was discovered days after she went to farm and never returned.
On their way to bury her Saturday, relatives and sympathizers found strange objects, including gari and cola nut in the dug grave.
The body was then returned to the palace as residents abandoned the burial.
Manso Nkwanta Police later intervened and supervised the burial after hours of waiting in the absence of the both the chief and queen mother.
Mourners have, nonetheless, reportedly vacated the funeral ground out of fear.

There was a time not long ago when the only shootings one heard of that involved loss of lives were the rare accidental shootings of local hunters by fellow hunters.

Our traditional upbringing valued life back then because there was the belief that if you killed someone, that person's ghost would haunt you for the rest of your life, not to mention the harsh prison term the murderer had to endure.

That belief and the swift and harsh justice in the law courts made potential murderers think twice about taking the laws into their hands.

These days our traditional values have become things of the past and judiciary system is so much in tatters that criminals are not afraid of the system.

The laws of the jungle where survival of the fittest is the norm, is now the order of the day in our land because there are no retributions for any of these heinous crimes unleashed unto other human beings by fellow humans.

I am tired of getting tired of hearing these senseless killings while government after government does nothing other than sending security forces there after each murder. Here is my solution. Forcibly send one of the warring factions (preferably the smaller one, or by ballot) to the disputed (and vacant) Peki-Tsito land after government has officially taken over the latter land. Either of these mad groups would have to travel across 10 to 15 villages to get to the other. This will save government time, money and energy hat could be directed at more productive areas.

Two African-Americans have not been spared this state of violence, insecurity and lawlessness that has taken over the country under the John Dramani Mahama NDC gov't.
These are dangerous times for this country and clearly, it is testament of the fact that, the center cannot hold, nothing is working in the country, there is no leadership, indeed, no nothing.
