You are repeating exactly what Rawlings and his "let the blood flow" misguided, inexperienced youth of this country said years ago. They claimed that our older leaders had failed and they took over the country in the 80s and mismanaged it for 20years. The result was a Cuban-style communist dictatorship, economic mismanagement, Rawlings' Chain" and abject poverty.

Those revolutionary youth who were wearing tire sandals and condemned market women to death for petty profiteering, are now billionaires enjoying power and money fraudulently. Throughout the period when Ghana was called "ojah krom", they perpetuated their rule through the gun and electoral malpractices. Unfortunately, they are the ones overseeing the sinking of this country today and they will do everything in their power to rig the elections and continue their mediocre rule, despite the fact that Ghanaians want them out.

Believe me; suggesting that the "youth" should take over the running of this country again will not fly.

One of the fundamental problems mitigating successful delivery of health services is corruption and financial malfeasance in the health sector.Most Health Managers in Ghana's public health sector are stealing and chopping big particularly with the introduction of NHIS.Indeed the NHIS near collapse is because of gross service induced moral hazards by criminal syndicate involving bigwigs in the health sector.To say corruption has been institutionalized in the health sector with massive looting ongoing particularly in the Ghana Health Service is an understatement.The corruption chain is sophisticated and runs right from district level to headquarters.It is difficult to expose the rot in the health sector because top men at the helm of affairs condone,connive and supervise it.This country can only achieve effective health service delivery and its MDG targets by eliminating corruption in the health sector.The only logical way to go about it is to ensure overhaul of the Health Ministry and the Ghana Health Service in particularly regarding some top civil servants who have been serving virtually in the same capacity for decades now.Merely reshuffling them between the Health Ministry and the GHS is not the way to go.Fresh technocrats committed to reforms and elimination of corruption are badly needed in the health sector if this country is to make any meaningful progress in its health delivery.They are some very brilliant public health administrators whose expertise could be tapped.Unfortunately,the old men at the Health Ministry and GHS some of whom have passed retirement age but have fraudulently cut down their age to continue decades of stay won't allow them in.The country will continue to suffer a set back in its health delivery because these are the very ones supervising over the excessive rot in the health sector for which they are direct beneficiaries.The 31.25 million euros targeted at reducing maternal mortality and achieving MDG 5 will obviously go down the drain as usual because it will find its way into individual accounts.Oh yes we can always blame politicians for lack of political will and commitment in reforms targeted at building strong institutions and eliminating corruption.But the chunk of the blame should go to top public officials put in key position of responsibility.Majority are filthy corrupt with the sole aim of undermining the system to create avenues for looting.It is unfortunate contemporary Ghanaian public official lack sense of patriotism and nationalism.They do not see their key position of responsibility as a call to national duty other than stealing to enrich themselves and their immediate families.The leakages in the public sector and particularly the health sector is too much.Some of us are looking forward to the day when the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan will be implemented and enforced to effectively work.The country is suffocating under the heat of corruption and financial malfeasance in the public sector particularly the health sector.

The Minister of Education in particular is failing the children of Ghana by allowing children to be squatting rather then sitting in comfort in classrooms. Why can't we have a a universal system which address the educational needs of all children . the inequalities in the educational system is not acceptable and should never be tolerated by every child.
