"What is the point in producing graduates without job"?Plz. repeat the a million times................What is prevailing in Ghana is like a doll house game where kids come together to play in the dust aimlessly....just to play...It is true that these private universities are only out there to exploit people if we think deeply about it..........the type of programs they offer have no market value or if at all they have whare are the jobs for these grads.?There is so much to be done to meet the domestic needs of Ghanaians in terms of commodity production....of which we lack the technical know how ...so govt and industry must meet to plan the needs of Ghana and design a suitable curriculum for the schools.....i am shocked to hear more than 200 programs are being offered in universities in Ghana..and I m wondering if they include programs like .....manafacturing engineering, robotic and elecro-mechanical engineering ,electrical engineering with speciality in electronic manufacturing, process engineering, construction engineering,waste-management ,landscaping and horticulture, food and meat processing technology, metallurgical engineering technology, electronic manufacturing technology,wood-working technology, heavy duty mechanics, air condition and refrigeration tech. Computer Numerical Control ( CNC )Programming , CAD ,Tool and Die Technology ,furniture design and manufacturing technology, fashion and textile , and so on......? these are the types of programs we need in ghana today ....so I calling on the Minister Spio Gabrah ,and co to invite the Ghana Manufacturers Assc. to meet and plan for a real better ghana.....

Why deny my nephew admission into the university after obtaining 5As and a D7 in Science with his General Arts background? He intend reading BA. philosophy and later Law. I suggest a bold consideration be made between Social studies and Integrated Science in addition to English and Maths making up the three(3) core for either Arts or Science students for admission purposes. Students with Arts background who intend to pursue higher academic education in Humanities etc must not neccessarily score a higher grade in Science. Sadly, the remark for scoring a D7 is a "pass"!!! What nonsense!

I am not buying your story whoever you are. Just listening and listening very good."ITS NOT WHAT YOU KNOW, ITS WHOM YOU KNOW", and this is the rules of the world.
Even at all, the Education ministry doesn't have any concrete plan for its education policy and a system set-up for its education standards.
Pouring incentives, effort, prestige and funding are the greatest obstacles and very much controversial and emotional issue facing the national government. The government cannot fashion new programs and new instructional techniques for all students and working class. Always the debate on education remains unresolved because the process requires courage, that the government rationalize and harmonize a complex set of complementary functions, mainly: curriculum design, teaching methods, student evaluation, textbook production and distribution, teacher recruitment and pay, school construction and rehabilitation, and parent-teacher linkages.
The Minister of Education, Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemang, should setup its educational standards and policy for these private tertiary institutions rather than procrastinating measures to improve the management and delivery of private education in the country.
We need more technical schools, DO U GET IT???
What are you improving from these private schools, what about Legon U, K Vast, and CC U?

It is astonishly embarrassing and irritating to always hear of advertisements being made on both electronic and print media on admissions into private universities and the calibre of programs run by these universities. About 90% of the programs run by almost all the private universities are business oriented which have fewer employment avenues in the country. moreover, the products from the existing universities are always struggling to secure jobs yet we keep establishing and accrediting institutions without a corresponding creation of employable avenues.Honestly, Ghana is a sick nation with blindfolded leaders driving the wheels of this country.

It is unfortunate that the so called Ghanaians spearheading Ghana's development policies are without realistic vision in all areas of development. Can one help to describe them with the right WORD?
The most painful thing is that most of them who choose the line of politics are ignorant about factors that can cause a nation to achieve development in the shortest possible time. At present politicians only feel fine and big when they are acknowledged as politicians. It is simply because they are villagers in mind!!!!
Considering Singapore's development strategies initiated by their leader Lee Kuan Yew and the support given by the people brought them to where they are today with uncountable successes.
This became possible because they realised that without the following factors there could be no way for the much talk about national developments.
The factors Singapore used are SCIENCE, ENGINEERING and TECHNICAL SKILLS. In reality these are the SINE QUA NON areas of studies that put a nation in the limelight. This is evident with the Chinese, Indians and South Koreans just to mention few.
The above nations according to records believed in teaching their students SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, TECHNICAL SKILLS. Another point of interest is that in South Korea the best 5 university graduates are posted to teach in the elementary schools while in Singapore the best 30 graduates are assigned to teach in the basic schools. Why can not they achieve maximum development?
In Ghana it is the very opposte because the leaders in Ghana do not understand nor can visualise practically in their hearts what education and its benefits bring to a nation. For Ghanaians to understand the reality of this comment I simply request them to go to ; www.youtube.com -- The history of Singapore.
This information will help us all especially those who want to lead Ghana through their so called political parties so that they may have the real idea of dealing with educational areas that leads to national developments. Once again lets all understand that national development depends on the subjects thought in a nation's schools.
If the nation's schools are Arts education oriented one can never expect our nation Ghana to be competitive in the global market. Just consider the decisions of China, Singapore, Malaysia, India and others which will never lack the productivity needed to provide goods for sale on the open market. No wonder these nations are economically powerful!!!!!!!
The Ghanaian so called educated people with their loaded degrees for nothing ought to wake up from sleep and help the nation move forward in the area of productivity.
