I was surprised when I first read about him being put before a magistrate court in Accra. I am no lawyer but I grew up in the midst of law books and lawyers and law cases. So, I remembered a recent precedence whereby the judge in Ho declined to hear some trumped up charges linked to events in Anloga that Awoamefia impostor Agboba and his lawless henchmen brought against some relations of complainants who want to have them jailed for contempt of court again. The case was outside his jurisdiction, he informed the lawless rogues. I am therefore not surprised this irregularity has been pointed out at last.

Procedure! Procedure! Proceudre!
And less lawlessness, this NDC regime! Or, should I say the A-G's Dept?

It could very well be that this is one of those technicalities which are employed by the legal fraternity to bamboozle the rest of us earthlings when they want to apply the law to do what they already want to do anyway.

I would be very surprised - if not disgusted, if the Afoko guy is set free though.

You right the transfer is not across international frontiers ,and that extradition process should not used ,but the fact still holds that a Court in Bolgatanga should have ruled on it before initiation of any transfer .

What if they judge in blatant a said the case is beyond his jurisdiction and so they should try in high estate Cort which is in Accra..it is also a discretion of the judge to decide whether he can set a trial or not,

I disagree with Yaw Boafo on Gregory Afoko case based on technicalities . One, you can transfer a case to another jurisdiction based on security for the defendant . Two, difficulty of finding unbiased jury, is another example whereby a case can be transfered. For example where it is hard to find an impartial jury due to the national media attention or prominence given to a case. Third, a case can be transfered due to conflict of interest unless the sitting judge recuse him or her self.
