Yes throughout Abedi Pele's colts days in Acrra, he was known as Dome Pele (usually pronounced Don Pele). People debated those days between him and Olabode Willians as who was a better player. Similasr debate continued when Abedi played for RTU. Some people preferred Abu Imoro(cocaine man)to him.

I once played against "Dome Pele" alongside Sarkodie Addo, later "Grt. Olympics" (Agorsuee) when my school "Anumle Middle" engaged their Greenhill International in a friendly match at the Police Depot park.

He was a good dribbler and a great force to reckon with. Greenhill, then is known to have admitted some best football talents in town, if i 'm not mistaken, some on scholarships.

Sola Ayew, later became my class mate and best friend in school. I will never forget the Hearts vrs Kotoko encounters on the school field.

Though a talented player, i was just lazy and didn't take football serious until i realised what others had reap from it. Hahahaha

That was memorable!I played against Abedi,Sola and Kwame.Percy Lee's team was Aston Villa and my team was Lomnava Stars.This happened at Adabraka Yankee stadium alias Methodist park.I also played for Adabraka Great Mau Mau and we beat Great Farcos with Abedi and Abu Imoro at the current Neoplan Station then known as Kaiser Park and I played for Liquenders at Mantse Agbona.chose Education over soccer then.memories.
