It's not over yet Mr. Opoku Ansah. We are still waiting for the Supreme Court to interpret Article 70(2) and Article 91(3) of the constitution. We believe that the action taken by Mr. Mahama did not reflect the letter and spirit of the above mentioned articles. But this has nothing to do with whether the lady appointed is qualified, fit to be the chairperson or not. In fact, that is a separate matter altogether.

Mr. Mahama should've waited for the Supreme Court's ruling on the matter before appointing the lady. He shouldn't have panicked because he felt the SC might decide against the presidential powers to appoint an EC boss and its members, which I believe is a real possibility. Those who are against his powers to appoint the EC chairperson have valid and concrete points. Since the president is also a political player, he should not be allowed to appoint the referee.

No matter the type of cut and paste constitution we may have, I don't believe the framers intended to give undue advantage to one political player over the others. Even though we know that it was written under the P/NDC military dictatorship that wanted to control every institution, and twisted the neck of Article 70(2) and Article 91(3) to appoint the first EC chairman in order to perpetuate their rule, it does not mean that we should allow the undemocratic process to continue indefinitely.

If you lose an election but think you can use legal technicalities to snatch victory from the victor, as happened in 2012, how can election petitions be prevented by the EC? It is Nana Addo's ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY that led to the 2012 petition and will lead to future ones.

In 2012 JDM thrashed Nana fair and square yet this junkie headed for the SC. Please AFAG, be real: no one wants NPP in power and you will beaten more squarely in 2016. Go round the country and see development going on - don't be fooled by the noise on radio in Accra and Kumasi. And please stop exploiting vulnerable Ashanti old people!

In 2012, the government of Ghana had 250,000 Ghanaians abroad as registered voters in our Embassies and on foreign missions which a forensic studies later revealed that we have a little over 700 people as registered voters.

We have a lot of ghost and underage voters in this voters list we have to throw it away and do a new one.

Participation of the people is now picking. During previous elections, people whose names were not on ballot papers won elections so people just couldn't be bothered. You will see their numbers in their next elections now that their electioneering is beginning to be transparent.

Not only that, you have close to 12 million people voting in 2012, that is like 45% of the population voting and 80% of registered voters casting their votes, an unprecedented numbers anywhere in the world.

Go and read the Ghana population distribution in terms of age and even if all eligible voters registered to vote which has never happened anywhere in the world, you will never have 60% of any country with registered voters vis-a-vis with its population, that shows with have ghost names as evidence by the 250,000 so called Ghanaians on the voters register as Ghanaians serving in our foreign missions abroad and underage voters.

Ghana's political system has been maturing faster than that of Nigeria, hence ours of 60%, even though there may be glitches here and there, more people in Ghana are enfranchised. Nigeria's performance is not a benchmark for ghana to follow. Nigeria is playing catch-up to Ghana. Ghana has successfully gone to the polls 7 times
while Nigeria has done so only once. Give me a better country to compare with and we can do proper analysis.
