Look, let's face fact and be truthful. Most cities in Ghana are choking due to overpopulation and the reason is quite obvious. Lacking what it takes to make living conditions normal for our city dwellers, it is about time we seek for long and lasting solution. By that I mean, "rural development". Some may rubbish the idea but in reality, that is the concrete answer to urban migration. We do not need a rocket scientist to tell us this but with commonsense, that is the answer.

Now, let me issue one example. Imagine a Ghanaian living in far away village of Hiamatuo in the Samreboi district in the Western region. If this Ghanaian is looking for work and he can find one at Samreboi, what will force him to go to Asankragwa? Finding work to make ends meet at Samreboi had stopped him in his tracks from heading to the capital or the nearest town to become an impediment.

We are dancing around the problem and complaining daily as we do not know the answer. Accra is chocked with all societal problems and instead of thinking outside the box and instituting concrete measures to arrest the situation, we are dragging our feet and complaining at the same time.

My question to the city authorities is this, what are they doing to decongest the capital? Forceful eviction or what and will that work or the government can stop Ghanaians from coming to the capital and for what reason?

Government should come out with a plan to keep Ghanaians in their localities and that is the gradual development of the rural areas. Any measures/policies taking at the moment is just temporary. We need a long and lasting solution.

Me and my mates from a school in Cape Coast had to build a biogas sanitation facility recently. The school's population had increased butthe sanitation facilities remained the same.The lack of water supply also compounds the problem in areas where we have sanitation. Integrated sewage disposal mechanisms too do not exist in Oman Ghana. For how long do you go to coastal settlements and you don't find any sanitation facilities?

Should that project had been wholly completed in the Capital City, todays defecation would not have been possible because Home owners would have the privilege to connect all their waste to the main drainage system.

Having said this, when Ex-President Rawlings jump to power through the gun, he was questioning how rationale were some Home Owners having two toilets in their homes? You see, we are our own enemies as well as people who do not have visions. If a Head of State can speak on National Radio to entice people to boycott a product made by a citizen of the nation, how do we expect progress of the nation? May be not until the 25th century. E&OE.

Since the overthrown of late KA. Busia in 1972 to date, which is approximately 43 years ago, a group by the name P/NDC have been in the political show for 25years of which they had a long ruling period for 19 years which the country did not see any transformation.
