My dear Northners, some of you have given chance for others to insult and disrespect you. The root cause of confusion and violence is tribal and chieftaincy. This should not be so. Brong Ahafo region, made up of the Ahafo and Bono people top in chieftaincy but hardly degenerates to violence and deaths.
Jamasi in Ashanti region has got a problem with who should be the next king since the time of Nana Brobbey but I have never heard them fight. Also, a place like Kumawu has its own problems. Many in Eastern region too. So why resort to violenve ona skin which has not got that much clout when it comes to politics and inflence in Ghana?
I would like to suggest that Chieftaincy disputes, their causes and effects should be an integral part of JHS and SHS syllabus. Resorting to violence on the least provocation will never lead to development in the area. Because, even if the area is developed, things will be destroyed whenever there is a disagreement.

However, come to my home here here to see how clean it is. environment around the house is especially serene. Why so? Because i hate to live in a dirty environment. On the contrary, by virtue of my being Ghanaian i am so branded. They won't single me out because I am insignificant in number. That is what is happening there in the north. The few you mentioned cannot be a determining factor. Almost all northerners must change, period!! They ought to want peace and must be tolerant to co-exist. Anything short of these, they should be left alone to kill themselves till there's none to kill and then we use that vast land for cultivation of tomatoes.

The latest violence is a result of some so-called chief who wants meat sellers to give him free meat by force. Instead of the Police arresting that idiot, he is hiding under tradition and culture of his people. I bet he is deliberately twisting this tradition to his advantage, and you have fools who toe his line to kill people just like that. I understand that in some areas when a hunter goes to the bush to hunt game, the hunter is supposed to give a piece of the meat to the chief who is the care taker of the land in the area concerned. This so-called chief has rather extended this tradition to include beef that butchers are selling on the market, disregarding the fact that somebody paid hard cash for the cow.
