J. Rawlings do the same thing to Voltarians when he was in power for twenty years? What about Atta Mills. The good old Prof was in power for three and a half years yet he was not selfish to only concentrate on his people in Ekumfi Etuam and the central Region but rather his whole thought was for the general good. No wonder under the care of Prez Mills, Ghana achieved a growth rate of 11%, single digit inflation and the smooth implementation of the Single Spine Pay Policy where newly recruited police personnel received the nominal equivalence of 500dollars as monthly salary. Compare these achievements to the nepotism and selfish policies of the Mahama government that has crippled the Ghanaian economy. I really weep for Ewes and Fantis whose votes brought Mahama to power and yet are the hardest hit by the current hardship prevailing in the country.

At long last a permanent solution is underway. All along this has been the problem, overaged substations, equipment and facilities. Since Osagyefo of blessed memory built the Akosombo dam which was commissioned in 1965, the substations have remained the same until now. How can this be, fellow Ghanaians? So now the replacement and rebuilding of substations and other equipment and facilities is to begin. So we now know that the problem is not Mahama's making. He is unfortunate to be president when the facilities finally started collapsing. All past presidents apart from the Osagyefo and all workers of the power generating institutions must take full responsibility for this serious lack of maintenance. They must all bow their heads in shame. Another issue which should engage the attention of Mahama and his government is that additional generating capacity is required. The shortfall which has been identified must be made up to coincide with the completion of the works by gridco. If this is not done the new substations and equipment will be overloaded and worse will happen as explosions will definitely occur. If you consider the new developments that have come to Ghana in recent years with the high demand for electricity no one needs to remind those in charge what should be done. We all have to suffer now for a better future.

Then came mobile phone providers - the first one, later changed to MTN also had a bit of monoploy but there was little competition. Now what do we have - the mobile phone market is awash with providers and with competion they are chasing us customers with creative promos etc. Where is Ghana Telcom now - it was sold! Competition, genuine competition will improve services and in some cases drive cost. We customers must remember that these guys need us and we must not shy away from telling them that they are rubbish if they are. We should warn themthat if they don't improve we will by word of mouth tell other customers not to patronise their business. Please sell off ECG, GRIDCO etc. This must be odne fairly and be supervised by independent firms like PriceWaterCooper and the like to avoid government selling it cheap to its cronies.

I quite remember the power minister complained that there are people working to ensure that he did not fulfill the promises that he made to Ghanaians that he would resign if dumsor goes beyond December 2015. I didn't believe the minister assertion then. But per this information coming from gridco, I begin to accept the Minister assertion. I am always sad when our so-called technocrats have become political animals. How can an energy analyst downplay the president ambition to increase electricity install capacity to about 5000 megawatts as not feasible. Now it is clear to us that measures are put in place to achieve that ambition. There is also another development recently that a contract is sent to parliament for an extra 1800 megawatts to be added to already 5000 megawatts target. Now this same analyst is now telling Ghanaians that looking at the projects that are in place, it would meet our national demands of electricity. And so government adding additional 1800 megawatts will be wasteful to Ghanaians. Ghana is for all us as Ghanaians. We must stop the nonsense of NDC/NPP. The nonsense of Mahama/Akuffo Addo. Non of these guys is an engineer. We must deal our engineers and not these politicians who knew nothing about engineering. Because we don't blame them for anything of their failure, they will continue to frustrate our lives and it doesn't matter who is a leading this country. I want to share experience with engineers. I have a company that I contracted a software engineer to develop a software that I could connect all my customers together to facilitate my business. I discuss it with my clients and they were all happy about the ideal. So I entered into contract with this engineer, he promised to deliver the work within 6 weeks but up to now he still didn't finish the work. which is 8 months. He has been given me several time lines but has failed with more than 3 months extension of contract schedule. Now I feel sigh to brief my customers about the progress of work. This made me to understand why when the president comes out Ghanaians that dumsor will end by time and so and yielded no results. If I had owed these customers any responsibility they would have labeled me as a liar. Our are not truthful and you can't fire them because they are scarce in the system. So you will have to endure the frustration. I could go on and on. Let us stop the nonsense of NDC/NPP. Let us not misdirect blames. Thank you all.
