If only they had listened to expects,I agree that we can't blame only NDC but they've us for 26yrs out of 58yrs.The hawkers shd be courageous enter Flag Staff Hse to dine with JDM

the city officials are of the fact that if they act:they may loose their seat on their party affiliation and as such neglected or blindfolded as if they haven'n seen these street hawking situation:what bothers me though,the city knowing the fact that street hawking is illegal,they continue collecting diarly taxes on them encouraging these hawkers doingb their illegal business;very quite ironic to see major street being taken by hawkers:it is reckless and irresponsible of the city officials doing nothing to stop it

These people are all over the place,on every major street in Accra making driving very dangerous and they think they have right away on the streets expecting cars to stop for them something you don't see very March even in the capital of our next door neighbor,Togo,but like somebody stated,we don't blame them,we all buy from them because everything is in Accra,the government does not encourage investors to take their businesses outside the capital.
In Ghana everything is Accra,Kumasi and Sekondi/Takoradi ever since Nkrumah.

The policemen and soldiers on duty of this stretch of road, and like on any other road, are the customers of the hawkers. I have seen duty policemen and soldiers buying "units" from these hawkers even when they are on duty.

I do not blame the hawkers. They have to survive as humans at all cost. I have been saying that till our leaders open the rural areas to keep people in their localities, urban migration will never stop.

Yaa Mansa said the she came from Berekum in the Brong Ahafo region. Now, why is she in Accra? Imagine she was able to get a job or something to make ends meet in her area of residence, what will force her to come to Accra? This is commonsense. Develop the rural areas else any measures being adopted is just temporary.

People should be kept in their localities to make urban areas sparsely populated. Trust me, of Accra is a human, she will have been dead long time ago.

We can collect all of them and dump them in a hole,they will be back the next day because they have no place to go,the solution is what you stated,too much of everything in the major cities especially Accra is the problem.

Just look at DC to see how many people will like to live there,it is not even that large and is largely government offices which Accra should have been with the businesses spread all over the country.
Everybody including even our former presidents all want to establish themselves in Accra abandoning their home villages,they feel ashamed to even mention their home villages but look at America,not even a single former president lives in Metro DC,Obama is also on his way out of DC come January,2017.

We have no foresight,I think it is too late now.

Ndc wanted to turn the place to poultry farm then latter to cemetery earlier so what is the problem here. That is what will happen to ghana when useless person like mahama rules a nation.

Most people are having children without any plans to be responsible for their upkeep. Even in rich countries in Europe, Japan, China and USA if people decide to have many children indiscriminately, do you think the government can cope. We've a serious problem due to the lack of population control. Women must start to close their legs and have only one or two kids. Recently, the UK government has announced they can only pay up to kids per family. This is a very rich country. Yet people in Ghana can have up to 10 kids without any plans to cater for them.

Govt should pass a bill to stop hawkers trading on pavements and cities /towns in Ghana ,its just a nuisance and deforms the beauty of the city. These hawking activities do exit in any country of the developed world.

Everyone with a street front property has converted it to some form of a shop as if we never heard of zoning or that there is no town planning. Ghanaians bemoan traffic congestion as it miraculously happened. Who knows, perhaps Mahama buys his handkerchiefs from those "boys" or bread for breakfast in the office. Quite convenient really, I mean just send someone across the to buy razor a blade when he forgets to shave.
