In an employment agreement only two entities can cause for resignation: the Employer (here the GOVT) or the Employee (the DOCTOR).
Union or Association leaders cannot force any doctor to resign - each doctor should resign on their own.
And that is exactly where the problem lies. Statistically it is about 50-50. ie about half of all doctors will not resign for one reason or the other. Others will resign.

J. Rawlings do the same thing to Voltarians when he was in power for twenty years? What about Atta Mills. The good old Prof was in power for three and a half years yet he was not selfish to only concentrate on his people in Ekumfi Etuam and the central Region but rather his whole thought was for the general good. No wonder under the care of Prez Mills, Ghana achieved a growth rate of 11%, single digit inflation and the smooth implementation of the Single Spine Pay Policy where newly recruited police personnel received the nominal equivalence of 500dollars as monthly salary. Compare these achievements to the nepotism and selfish policies of the Mahama government that has crippled the Ghanaian economy. I really weep for Ewes and Fantis whose votes brought Mahama to power and yet are the hardest hit by the current hardship prevailing in the country.

But for the Mahama-led NDC govt to seek to suggest that the doctors do not deserve those conditions because they are "doctors" and should suffer in silence for being doctors, whilst this Mahama-led NDC gov't increases their salaries and collects back pay from 2009, which reflects in the conditions of services they receive, the ex gratia and also their official govt position of almighty everything thievery, for doing absolutely nothing for this country, but rather, presiding over the collapse of this country is a no-brainer.
Patients go to hospital for their ailments and most cases about 90% of the time, they get relief or are treated from their ailments.
I would rather pay for results than for collapse.
It is not rocket science and you don't need an oracle or a soothsayer to grasp this concept.
The Mahama-led NDC govt should stop wasting Ghanaians time and get the doctors, pharmacists and nurses in their respective departments.
And for Anaba. MD, the GMA is resolute and the whole GMA is resigning if demands are not met and it is a decision of the GMA.

Medical Doctors that depended on the US tax payer pay their dues by serving in the impoverished areas in such clinics at salaries less than what their counterparts that funded their own education make.

That was in 2013 or 2014. All positions were advertised and applications were coming in from unemployed Doctors in Nigeria. The Doctors quickly called off their strike. Nigeria is big with the highest number of medical Doctors from Africa working in USA and Europe. Nigeria is not Ghana, Serebour may not fare better there either even if he get a job.
