Ghanaians' demands to what amounts to freebies never ceases to amaze me. The government should not accede to any of these outrageous demands from the striking doctors. If it does, the government will be opening the floodgates for other professions to demand similar benefits. Part of the doctors’ demands include 40% of basic salaries as accommodation allowance per month, 20% as core duty facilitation allowance, 30% clothing allowance, 20% maintenance allowance, 20% utility allowance, 50% as professional allowance and 25% special risk allowance and vehicle tax exemption.These outrageous demands are the reason the country is retrogressing economically. No wonder the IMF is asking the government to curtail what amounts to subsidies if the country is to grow its GDP.

Go and see how Prez Mahama of Ghana has transformed Gonjaland with Ghana money just within the two and half years that he has been in power. Every town, village and hamlet in Gonjaland has received a facelift with new facilities such as roads, toilet facilities, markets, mosques, good quality water projects, electricity extension projects, etc. The question is did J. J. Rawlings do the same thing to Voltarians when he was in power for twenty years? What about Atta Mills. The good old Prof was in power for three and a half years yet he was not selfish to only concentrate on his people in Ekumfi Etuam and the central Region but rather his whole thought was for the general good. No wonder under the care of Prez Mills, Ghana achieved a growth rate of 11%, single digit inflation and the smooth implementation of the Single Spine Pay Policy where newly recruited police personnel received the nominal equivalence of 500dollars as monthly salary. Compare these achievements to the nepotism and selfish policies of the Mahama government that has crippled the Ghanaian economy. I really weep for Ewes and Fantis whose votes brought Mahama to power and yet are the hardest hit by the current hardship prevailing in the country.

GHANA IS SADDLED WITH A WHOPPING OVER 275 NON-PERFORMING MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT AND PRESIDENTIAL APPOINTEES, ALL PAID MONTHLY SALARIES AND MANY ALLOWANCES BY THE TREASURY FOR NO WORK DONE, AND LOOTING ON TOP, AND THIS DUMB DOES NOT SEEM TO KNOW THE MAIN CAUSES OF GOVERNMENT'S NEGATIVE CASHFLOW AND BUDGET DEFICITS OVER THE YEARS?

THAT'S WHY I'D ALWAYS MAINTAIN THAT GHANAIAN LEADERS PERFORM AS IF THEY'VE NEVER SAT IN A CLASSROOM.

I have done it several times with my former employers and won better conditions for my unionize members. Government must sit down with the Doctors and negotiate an acceptable package that will meet both parties interest. This is very simple, but the government will like to use its propaganda machinery to demonize the doctors position.

remember that we are all Ghanaians. There is the need for a leader and even if all our leaders had come from a particular community, their leadership style would certainly had been different. The public have the right to express their opinion. They will
talk when there are no jobs. They will talk when the power crisis keep on worsening to the extend that the private sector begins to crack. They will talk when there is too much
corruption. They will talk when the living conditions keeps detoriating. No government has escaped criticism. From our colonial rulers through Nkrumah to Mahama. Nkrumah was overthrown and so was Liman. Please
I implore all to refrain from comments that will seem to suggest Ghana consists of people from different countries. Finally, some ordinary man from Nkroful should have advised Nkrumah the situation on the ground as experienced by the common man. An act which should have continued to Mahama's time.
