  Ghana Medical Association feels they are too powerful and they can get anything they want at anytime. This is no longer the case as Govt have to stand up to the bullies and make sure proper condition of service offered taking into cognizance of the prevailing conditions of service existing in the neighboring countries. We have to keep up with the ECOWAS ideals by making sure the sub region have a uniform salary structure.

  Shame! why have you treated the average Ghanaian like a slave who live on less than a dollar a day. The doctors are saying they need "conditions of service" clearly written and signed by the 2 parties. Is this a bad thing? You probably have lived abroad and so would know that this is even in the interest of the common man. You abuse the rights of the doctors and their ignorant patients by not employing enough doctors and specialist, not enough beds, equipments and space. This has resulted in many preventable deaths with one doctor for several hundreds of patients.

  So long as there are incentives for people to go on strike so long will there be strikes. Who does not like to stay home and be fully paid. Who does not like to be treated like a king when they embark on strike and the whole nation goes begging? Elsewhere, when you embark on strike, your union takes over paying your salary or wages. If the strike is prolonged, you are fired. You may re apply.
