Currently, the electorate would vote for the main opposition party if it were not happy with the incumbent as that would be the only effective way to change the administration.

This is a heart-warming news if a a sincere one, not just another exercise in futility about to happen.

The CPP in particular must go into these talks withj an open mind, not the dogmatic stand they have been taking so far ...

They must be prepared to have a name change and give the Nkrumahist mnovemnt a lift over. It is not the name CPP that is keeping in the Nkrumahist tradition alive but rather the achievemnents of the party under the visionary leadersip of Nkrumah.

They must also be ready to change and adopt new slogans and emblem.

And they must adopt a radical message.

Incredible! Someone should put Samia on his laps and spank her real hard. She has taken the CPP on a wild goose chase - a 360 degree drunken spree to no avail. This has cost the Ghanaian voter a massive loss of electoral opportunity and a country that has virtually been reduced to its knees.

I really wonder if there is now sufficient 'matter' that can gel the interests of the two parties. The CPP, which was once an Nkrumaist party, now seems to have abandoned that credible and scientifically proven prolific creed for the bedlam of capitalism - that wicked credo that seeks to sustain the primitive survival of the fittest aspirations of the greedy and the selfish.

The PPP on the other hand, does not seem to have any palpably established principles on which one can pin them down on the basis of its own assertions. In lieu, they flaunt what they refer to as the "ten-point agenda" which can hardly be taken seriously by any discerning political pundit.

Then again, there is the existing disaffection between Samia Nkrumah and her former mentor, Dr Nduom, which may need to be nursed back into normalcy before any serious attempt to reconnect the two entities.

As for the PNC, I think it is a cancerous tribal sore on the political landscape of the country. That party too cannot be described in any way as an Nkrumaist party. The man Dr Hilla Limann, a Northener whose memory inspires them to congregate as a political party, was never an Nkrumaist and never made any pretensions to be one.

It is said that at the time when the CPP was faced with a myriad of tribulations, and Dr Hilla Limann was head-hunted and thrust upon the CPP family, he, Dr Hilla Limann was actually a card-bearing member of the Danquah-Busia tradition - a repository of the most virulent enemies of Kwame Nkrumah, the founder of the CPP. Limann just found himself at the right place at the right moment prior to being elevated to become the President of Ghana at the time. He was just a convenient pawn for the brigands who inherited the Nkrumaist mantle.

If I were a CPP member, I would keep a safe distance from the CPP. It has nothing of any value to give to the CPP even in its most vulnerable and emasculated condition that it now finds itself in.
