What is oppositions alternative to dumsor, nhis problems, low tax revenue, bad road construction, GMA issue? That is what the electorate will look for rather that beating war drums at any turn. Citizenship is very difficult to determine in Ghana and political parties have been regesitering minors and bussing people from their strongholds to areas where they are weak. Let us all be honest. There is no cure for a bad register.

I can see threat and preparation of electoral war looming even though we are not there yet, just like the movie 'Minority Report'. Is there any superior humans, clans, tribes or communities in Ghana at all? If there was, can I please ask someone to educate me? Running up to the last general election, there were series of strikes which braced the Ghanaian populace followed by the election petition which brought the country to a grinding halt in all aspect of economic activities. That was a phase. There is an ongoing Medical Doctors strike with a solution far from sight. Now there is a call for a New Voters Register. Just who owns Ghana! If the country/government can not negotiate with the Doctors to return to work with a reason of staying within budget discipline, is the country resourced to organise a New Voters Register? There is simply no need for this as I view it a war drum and threatening as I listened to one John Boadu of NPP. Can we for once be reasonable to know that Ghana belongs to all Ghanaians and not any political party or any superior Ghanaian/individual? I can see this as a testing time for the EC's Authority as they have better things to do. Ghanaians are too clever to just succumb to this sort of calls. I am tempted to say the best is not NPP and certainly the best does not come from NPP. We need to function as we do not want to be embroiled in another phase.

Yes it is fun whilst it last for every john in Ghana to talk about electoral reforms but it is not prudent or wise to re-register voters for the heck of it unless the problem at hand will be resolved with new registration process without the disenfranchisement of existing registered voters. We have not resolved the issue of who is legal to vote in Ghana yet otherwise Dr. Bawumia would not have found grounds to make the claim that there are registrants on Ghana's voter registry that also appear on Togolese voter registry. How did those people get to register in Ghana and what are the requisite requirements? Let the NPP zealots without knowledge tell the truth for once that they are pushing for a new registry in the hopes of that some NDC loyalists/card carrying members do fail to register thereby reducing their numbers. Is it all worth the money for the short term gain of victory at the ballot, NPP?

And if they trust to win the elections no matter what because they are in power, why can't they allow the good thing to be done? As far as I'm concerned, to avoid unnecessary hardships after the elections, the EC as an indipendent body must be bold and take a decision on it. But I will advice they go for a new credible register.
Besides, Pastors, Chieves, and opinion groups must come out to tell which way will better serve the country so that there will will be no tension whatsoever.

Running up to the last general election, there were series of strikes which braced the Ghanaian populace followed by the election petition which brought the country to a grinding halt in all aspect of economic activities. That was a phase. There is an ongoing Medical Doctors strike with a solution far from sight. Now there is a call for a New Voters Register. Just who owns Ghana! If the country/government can not negotiate with the Doctors to return to work with a reason of staying within budget discipline, is the country resourced to organise a New Voters Register? There is simply no need for this as I view it a war drum and threatening as I listened to one John Boadu of NPP. Can we for once be reasonable to know that Ghana belongs to all Ghanaians and not any political party or any superior Ghanaian/individual? I can see this as a testing time for the EC's Authority as they have better things to do. Ghanaians are too clever to just succumb to this sort of calls. I am tempted to say the best is not NPP and certainly the best does not come from NPP. We need to function as we do not want to be embroiled in another phase.
